Looks like we will be getting the GT3 RS in the states next year sometime. I don't have any further info, but we will see it.

Guys relax, just telling the board that it has been confirmed through the factory. The car will be here early summer 07.

Gt3rs

What's disturbing is the latest posts on various forums that GT3's, both regular and RS will come with sunroofs and no option to delete. Might be holding on to my 996 GT3 after all. Wonder if this also means the upcoming 997 GT2 will come only with sunroof? Hope not.

Sunroof is an $1600.00 option for a GT3. Check some of the overseas Porsche site's and build one!

I don't believe that sunroof's have never been standard on 911's!

I'll say it if no one else will..........thanks for the informed update. Only a dealer or Porsche employee will have the true status of new models!

Yeah, right, a dealer having the correct information. What planet are you from. There was an official Porsche press release about this weeks ago.

relax Nelson. don't forget our GT3 is MkII GT3 not the very first MkI GT3 that never made it across the pond.

in my opinion the current GT3 is just as good as the upcoming one & even purer. the 997 GT3 sure is hot but is it really worth to trade the 996 in? it's impossible to keep up with all the new cars coming out. although i want one but i think it'd be smarter waiting for the future facelift car.

Legend, thanks for trying to update us on this. Your actions are well intended. As any group of enthusiasts, we're usually better informed than the dealers and can probably tell the dealers about things that haven't officially been released before the dealerships are given this info. It isn't uncommon for one of us to walk into a showroom and know more about the cars than the salesmen. One time I went into a dealership and opened up the trunk, the salesmen walked up to me while I was looking and condescendingly said, "if you're looking for the engine, it's in the back of the car". I couldn't help myself and said "No kidding, the things they can do nowadays". I immediately thought of the Jeff Foxworthy stand up comedy routine and thought "Here's Your Sign". He then asked what I was currently driving and I pointed out my '72 911 in the parking lot. I guess I knew what I was looking at afterall.

Gt3 Rs

Believe me, I'd like nothing more than for the various "confirmed" GT3 and RS rumors to be wrong, especially with regard to the sunroof issue. My deposits are in place at a couple of dealers just in case. It would be interesting if the existing MK2 GT3 as Arling says, turns out to be more pure to RS roots. We'll see what Porsche really thinks soon enough.
