Gulf Colors
Gulf Colors
I have always been jazzed on the early P car with the "Gulf" orange and blue paint schemes. I wonder what that paint would look like on a 05 GT3. Anyone have a picture they wouldn't mind sharing, or a photoshop simulation. Ordinarily I would never consider painting my black car, but I ran across a very good painter that specializes in P cars. I will keep this car for years to come.
BTW my Cup gears finally came in and the car goes to the indy P shop Monday morning for the gear changes.
Have a great weekend everyone!

I've printed the pictures and will show them to the painter I mentioned to get his opinion/suggestions. If I do it I'll post pic of the results. Thanks for all you help guys.

Mexico Blue, I respect your judgment after seeing you car. I think there is a fine line between just enough and too much. However I'm going to explore many combinations before making a $$$ decision. My indy P tech and his late father have raced Porsches during the 70s and 80s and have considerable experience in doing the "right thing" for the car. They even have a parting-out early 70s car in the Blue and Orange.
There would be a considerable amount of planning to get the right paint scheme when you include painting the rockers and powdercoating the wheels the body color (orange or Mexico Blue).
My interior is black so that would not be changed (although it certainly could be)
In my younger days I have built a few nice cars, mostly street rods, but my best was an early 72 Pantera that I had blood, sweat and tears into. I have the finished product in mind and I believe I know what to do to attain that goal. Finding the proper craftsmen to whom I can convey my ideas will be the biggest hurdle; the easy part will be time and money.
This car is for my enjoyment only, it probably will never be tracked. Gotta go my meds are wearing off.

Consider painting the wheels black. I dont know what I like better but here is a 1997 993 Turbo S I spotted back in February around Newport beach.
