opinions on going 19" on gt3

For the sake of discussion, how is raising the GT3 supposed to help performance. Also I think these might be 19X12 19X9? (his exhaust does not seem to fit well either?)
GT3 on 19's (Very nice looking wheel design)
Mine lowered from stock height 1/2 inch front 1/4 inch rear (big improvement after alignment as well)

Those are 8.5's and 11's according to the website.
Raising a car all depends on its reference point. If the car has been lowered so low that the geometry is all screwed up, then raising it to the correct height would probibly be a good idea. But if the car is already set at the correct height and you need to raise it for tire clearance issues, you may want to rethink exactly what you are trying to achieve and investigate the correct options of getting there.
BTW- Your car looks AWESOME at that ride height!

the GT3 is a 911 and a 911 is a flashy ride. with the 19s, it'll look proportionate. to the fellas who think they even begin to have a clue about suspension tuning (black magic) and try to create lesson plans via web threads WHAHAHHAHAH.... it's armchair QBing at its worse (or best depending on how u look at it).

Yeah, the suspension is black magic all right... Yeah, as if I don't constantly retune my suspension and modify it (much more so than most guys dare to do)... how is that like armchair QBing when I am actually one of the few guys out there constantly tuning it?

Do what makes you happy. since you track the car on 18's, it shouldn't really matter on the day to day use of your car. 19's look good and you could probably get some rim and tire combo's that'll make your ride fine. When I went from 18's to 19's I went from pzero's to ps2's and the ride on the ps2s were a lot bouncier. I had to have the pss9s stiffened a lot.

If it doesn't make it go faster or handle better, it's a waste of money. There are so many other modifications you can do the improve your 3. A set of 19's would be way down the list, if on the list at all. Not to say that if you want to put on some carbon pieces or red guages to spruce her up is bad, but 19's just to have 19's just doesn't make sense. Stick with 18's, Porsche must of known what they were doing. Just MHO.

to think thaqt the turbo and gt3 are the same performance machines is ridicoulous i agree with tyson... turbo is a a gt cruiser ( i know coz i have one) while the gt cars gt2, gt3 are totally different machines. imo the cars are not in the same category

18in hre competitions on a blk 996gt3 hot imo.. (996gt3's) ride
