Check Engine Light Help
Check Engine Light Help
I was just driving home and my car just threw on the check engine light. I have a track event tomorrow and am kinda worried about it now. Do I run the car at the track event? The car seems to be running fine and the only mod I have are MUFFLER bypass pipes from fabspeed. What is the recommendation, run the car because it is not acting funny, or do not take the chance? Thanks in advance

everywhere is closed at this time (6pm on sunday). I would have tried to get the codes read. I will disconnect the battery. Should I take it to the track? Or just not risk it and take it to the dealership tomorrow morning? thanks guys!

I bet it's from your mod, should not be a problem.
Did you try the battery?
if it's a solid cel, i wouldn't worry about it. flashing cel on the other hand is a problem. is your car in limp mode?
most of the time the cel's are not a big deal. i can't imagine your muffler bypass triggering it though....
i know it's a little late, but you may want to invest in a cel code reader. i am using the autothority one with my laptop. reads and clears codes. it's a must for me as i live with cels as a result of the supercharger. got one right now that i haven't scanned yet
