Hey guys, I have a question about everyday useability and comfort of these three cars.

If a 996tt with stock suspension is a 10 with respect to everyday comfort, please rate (from 1 to 10), the GT2 and GT3.

Thanks.

GT2 is an 8, GT3 is a 7 IMO. I drive the 3 every day. My father has a 2 and it seems less "stiff" but not much.

I had a 996 TT stock and if it was a 10 stock, then my GT2 is a 5. Ride on the GT2 is fine on good roads, but very bad on bad roads! It could be driven daily, but it is definately a compromise ride.

To add to my above post. My 993 with H&R suspension was closer to a 5 to me and my old 944S2 race car with Leda coilovers was a 3.

Agree the GT2 will rattled out your fillings on bad roads. But fine on freeway.

Hmmm...maybe this would be a good place to get an answer. How would the JIC 7/10 rate? This would be for a 996TT not the GT2 or GT3.

And the coilover noise from the GT2 made my wife think there was something wrong with the car when we first got it.

Now she is used to all kinds of noises that was non-existent on the Turbo.

FWIW - My ratings (with a slightly revised rating schedule) with comments:

TT 996 stock - 7 (too much trampolining/bouncy)
TT 996 PSS9 - 10 (huge help, particularly with corner balancing)
GT-2 stock - 6 (not necessarily stiff, but very sensitive to alignment)
GT-2 Motons - 8 (huge transformation from stock)
GT-3 stock - 5 (stiff, great out of the box)
GT-3 Motons - 8 (that much better)
CGT - 8 (hard to improve)

Oops!! No cushy ride implied!!!!

Great clarification - my higher ratings were more oriented to handling first followed by ride quality. My bad!! And just for laughs - G-55 ride quality - zero!!

You would be keeping the M5?

I love my TT with the PSS9's. When they were first installed Vipertesterosa set them for 4/3..he said he had his set to like 3/2...(he's insane)

The roads around here are not the greatest and I changed the settings to 5 all the way around and it's very good..

As far as using the TT everyday..depending on mileage, I would get tired of it and like to switch it up...But love the car to death and enjoy it every time I drive..

Absolutely keeping the M5 - love that thing to death. Got the Dinan 3.91 rear end on order, but they say it may be delayed.
