What is odd is that a car that weighs slightly more, has the same hp (yet about a 100 lb.-ft. of tq) was substantially faster than it in the Car & Driver test. The GT 500 pulled a 12.9@112mph, while the M6 did the 1/4 mile in 12.4@121mph. At high speeds the difference is even more glaring as the GT500 did 0-150 in 30.3 sec. while the M6 did it in 19.5 sec. Not sure what is going on here. I'm not sure with even another 100 hp is you can break into the 11's.

not odd. a good car is not all about power. tranny plays a big role as well.
