997GT3 or C6 Z06
Adrift, it's FIA GT, not Le Mans... and vettes ARE doing well there, but the stock GT3 is closer to a track-car than a Z06... and around a track, or a twisted mountain road, or, or, or, the GT3 would take on the Z06 no doubt... the Z06 is only siperior in a straight line... I love vettes... I'd take a split-window '64 with a 427 big block anytime over a GT3... but the new stuff, well, hummm... no further comments your honor... the defense rests... hehehe

sorry if I came on strong, but it's a no-brainer :-)

On a a race track, given EQUAL drivers, it would be close, very close. This is simply a fact. Step our of your in-denial circle and back into the real world, ya hmar!..

Not the gt3. And hence why the ferrari was concidered better even though the porsche wooped up on the ferrari.

ok guys i also said its a no brainer. But some people keep on arguing that the vette is a better car and i could never agree since they also are for getting that the GT3 is a 6clyn vs. a 427 8cyln with a 100 more hp ( forget the price difference )
At the end of the day even a resale value of a GT3 is much higher..

Its really not about money at all.
I like the new Z06 and I nearly went for one before buying a C2S this summer. I didn't because it's not all about how fast it can go, at least to me. There's something so right, so satisfying when driving the Porsche that words can't describe. I feel one with the 997 S and wouldn't trade it for a Z06. I'm getting an RS and even if the Z06 was faster, who cares, there's always someone with a faster car right around the corner. Buy what makes you happy and forget about what other people think/say.

Maybe it is at work.Maybe this is why people prefer the Porsche...

I don't understand (even though I've done it before sometimes so I'm just as guilty) how we can say "get the x car because it's .2sec faster to 60 and does the Ring 10 secs faster. Who really gives a ****! Maybe I will be faster in the, on paper, slower car because it's easier for me to drive. All this magazine racing kills me..
Get the car you want, the car that gets your heart pumping when you look at it, the one that gives you the biggest smile when you drive it. period.
Best response in the thread.

Off topic, but the truth about the transverse leaf springs. Hmm, less unsprung weight, lower center of gravity and incredible durability. Yeah I'll take teh Macpherson struts. LOL

Does anyone wonder how GM can produce Carbon Fiber body parts and expensive composite leaf springs, high tech balsa composite floors, magnesium engine cradles and and a high performance dry sump V8 that spins to 7K and still sell it at 75K.
God help us when they get the interior right.
