Will new 997GT3 equipment fit on 996GT3?

Will the following equipment from the European Spec 997 GT3 RS fit onto a US 996 GT3 RS?

1.) New 19" Wheels ?

2.) New carbon fiber bucket seats (are those from the Carrera GT) ?

3.) New porsche motorsports/tequipment roll cage (what's the difference between the two, and what's the difference between the 996/997 cages)?

1) you don't want 19's on a 996 GT3 unless only for the street and even then it's not a good idea to trade handling/stability for bling

2) there is a euro 996 GT3 cf seat...don't know if the CGT seats will fit either a 997 or 996

3) the 997 is wider than the 996 so it is likely that the 997 tquip rollbar will not fit the 996 (the 996 GT3 tequip rollbar is a non-sunroof bar)...reportedly all 997 GT3's will have a sunroof (RS will have sunroof delete)...

VSE CHUCK is right, 19's will need upgraded suspension parts and revised geometry to make these work for track use. The 51mm offset 997GT3RS rear wheels will not fit a 996GT3. The 68mm 997GT3 rear wheels will fit, but the 53mm offset 997GT3/RS fronts will need a 13mm spacer.

The Porsche "cup" seat or Carrera GT seat will fit with the proper mounting brackets. The 996 GT3 seat brackets/ sliders may work.

Although the interior dimensions are similar, I believe the cage/ bar mounting points are different between the 996 and 997 chassis.

Thank you zona. Looks like the 19" wheels really won't work.

Does anyone know a good source for the Carrera GT seats?

Besides the mounting points are there any differences between the 996 and 997 cages?

I would buy the oem 996 GT3 RS (street car) roll cage instead of putting in a 997 GT3 roll cage.

Rear Wheels fit with the 5mm spacer (same used on the 997 GT3). Front ones will need a 17mm Porsche OEM spacer (used on wide body cars with narrow body rear wheels). Rear tires should be changed to 315/25R19 to keep the stock 996 GT3 rolling diameter.

Cage is a direct fit. 996 and 997 have the same interior dimensions.

CGT Carbon seats are a direct bolt-on.

Wow, perfect. Now just one more question:

Where is the best place to source these parts (997GT3 Wheels, CGT Carbon Seats, and 997 Cage)?

Thor, do your due diligence if truely considering these parts.
  1. The 997 GT3 bar (left) does not bolt to the same locations as the 996 bar (right).
  2. The Carrera seats may be bolt in for a 997 but the 996 may use different sliders.
  3. The wheels will require a 13mm spacer for the fronts to equal the same dimensions as the 996GT3 and the rear GT3rs wheels will not work.
Good luck

Thank you for the info zona. This is the first step in my due diligence. I appreciate all the help, saves me a lot of time and phone calls. Also considering the LWF/Clutch from the RS and maybe lower gearing (possibly only the final drive ratio), any thoughts here?
