was just on dragtimes and saw someone posted up a 1/4 mile time for the 2007 GT3. veyr impressive time to say the least! i assume this was a mag test as well.

0-60: 3.8
0-100: 8.7
0-120: 12.5

 

Not much faster then the 996 GT3. luis ran a 12.4 in his 996.

 

I think those are from car and driver. I just read it.
It went up against z06 and elise.

 

yea but did luis trap 113? 5 mph is pretty good. forget the 1/4 mile though, i would love to see this thing on a track where it will truly do the most damage!

A 12.01 vs. a 12.4 is a big difference.

 

besides that they probably didn't get a good launch off of the car... its pretty hard to launch that car...

hey luis, im curious, have you driven the new 997 gt3 yet? i would be very interested to hear driving impressions, since we all know how great the 996 gt3 was, and keep hearing how great the new 997 gt3 is.

 

Luis drove his car PERFECTLY on that 12.4 run, I saw it, he wrung every
possible straight line performance HP out of it.

12.01 is phenominal, not many stock 996TT's can run that !!

997 GT3 is a fantastic car in every way!

different drivers, track and day. This comparison is nothing short of meaningless...almost as meaningless as using a GT3 on a drag strip in the first place...

 

I can tell you first hand. The car feels very strong! I thought coming from a F430 and a lightweight, high HP GT2 that I would be disapointed in the power. I am very impressed with how hard it pulls.

 

I disagree... I think the point is that no 996GT3 could run a 12.0... the 12.4 mentioned is irrelevant... and that is a very quick time for a 996GT3 anyway.
