GT3 Runs 12.01@118!
Last time I ever drag raced my car was in November 2004, Raceway Park, Englistown, NJ.
2938 lbs, LWFW, 245/285 Dunlop Super Sport Race (race tires). The 315 MPSC on the 997 GT3 should have more grip than the skinny 285 Dunlop SSR I ran:
60' 1.78 secs
330ft 5.05 secs
1/8 mi 7.70 @93.51
1000 ft 9.95 secs
1/4 mi 11.82 @ 120.33 mph
I will be running some SCCA Pro-Solos this year, so I'll take the car to the drag strip again, to practice the reaction times before going to a National level SCCA competition.
This is a run with the bone stock car (3,133 lbs with toolkit, 1/8th of a gas tank and barely 1,000 miles on the car). Street tires hurt the 60' times and that translates to a slower ET and trap speed.

- 11 lbs Braille Battery (vs. 35 lbs stock)
- Empty trunk (no liners)
- PCCB
- Muffler bypass pipes
- no windshield liquid
- no side airbags (like the 996 GT3 RS), no glovebox, no passenger airbag
- Recaro Seats
- LWFW
- CCW 1-piece wheels 10"/12"
- no mats
I guess it's time for a 996 vs 997 comparison huh? There is no doubt that the 997 is a better overall car than the 996 but seems as if the 997 lost some of it's edginess and become a softer car. Even looking at the interior it seems more luxury than before. The 997 is much more beautiful IMO but if I were to buy a car straight for the track I would buy the 996 GT3 over the 997.
How about we get some members to weigh their cars because magazine articles are so undependable, its rediculous. Then we can have some members meet at the track. If I had known the 996 GT3 was that fast I would have gotten one over the TT. A few mods and you are close to 500 hp NA at 3000 lbs (or less), and that is a beast.

My numbers are guesstimates, based on the fact that GT3's are dynoing 360 rwhp stock I'm pretty sure from what I've heard from some tuners (hehe) that a good 40 rwhp is attainable which would put crank hp at about 460 maybe a little bit more. I think one could get "close to" 500 hp meaning 470 or so at the crank.

BTW the 997 GT3 RSR is like 480 hp or so, i would think 40 rwhp is extremely hard and expensive to gain out of the 996 GT3, but i could very well be wrong. Havent heard of many people posting their dyno/power gains off mods!
500hp out of a GT3 is unheard of... I've heard of a single company with specs in this range... I believe they did it by boring the motor to 4.6L!!! The company is Koro. You can search on google but every link I found was in German.
Here is a basic summary of the car:
