997GT3 Break In
997GT3 Break In
Anyone know the # of miles for proper break-in?
Spoke to a Porsche Tech at the dealer and he suggested at least 1-2K, keep revs below 4500-5000rpm.
It's going to be tough to resist revving this thing.

James... come over here.. I'll seat the bloody rings for you
Everyone has a different school of thought on this but one thing is for sure- if you don't change your oil after a few hundre miles (say 500 at most?) then you'll have some lovely metal shavings floating around. Dump the oil....

From experiance I can tell you that you want to vary the load and the revs.
Dont buz it but dont baby it either.. Break the engine in the way you are going to drive it..
Any reputable engine builder will agree....
