Nav in a GT3?

Not sure if this has been brought up before, but what's with the navigation option on the GT3? I know these cars aren't going to be driven on the track every second of their lives, but navigation? ...it just seems out of place and counter to what the GT3 stands for IMO.

Does the GT3 RS have a nav option?

Well, I seriously think the RS does not have it...
Anyway even on the GT3 seems a bit unappropriate....but...that's me!

Purists may find it inappropriate. But inorder to drive in good tracks around europe I have to drive thousants of miles. And the Navi proves really really usefull in that!

I opted for Nav, too. How much weight does it add? Not sure. I'll get out the scales when the car comes in.

I am wrestling with the same issue. Had it on the order, dropped it yesterday and am now trying to decide if that was a good decision.

I have to lock my order in the next few days, so comments here will be helpful.

Pros:

Doesn't add weight
Looks better on the dash
gives a bit more control over some of the car controls (but nothing important)
Helps re-sale (for those that like the car, but will use it on the road more than the track)???

Cons:

Inconistant with a GT3
Expensive
Hurts re-sale (for the track guys)???

It makes the interior look so HOTT, transforms the interior. If i purchased a GT3 I would drive it often and the NAV is something to bragg about.

For me, I have 1 car that does not have nav. It's gets driven less than the others despite being (arguably) the most fun to drive. I'd put it in the car in a heartbeat, but I don't want to mess with the "stock" nature of the car.

In an ideal world, we'd all order our GT3s without audio of any kind. Or A/C. Or sunroof. But then, we'd practically be driving Cup cars. Hmm... maybe that's the answer?

My vote: Navigation all the way!

I also struggled with Nav and in the end took it.. No regrets. Great having the map there for situational awareness and even found a few 'squiggley' roads I didn't know existed!

Tonight I am not able to upload pictures but there is the navi for the rs and I would love it.

In the second page there is an orange Rs for sale and if you click on the picture there is another one of the interior and you can see the navi

the nav system really makes the interior of the car, it's always a nice option to have, but if your keeping the car for a track, I guess it's just an added weight...

bottomline, if u use the nav, then why not. i don't see the logic behind it but again, why not. at least it's not standard.
