porsche has not released the total production figure for the "limited edition" cgt.
it's thought to be in the neighborhood of 1300

It was orginally 500 then it went to 1250 and that was the last I heard. I thought it went down from 1250 but hopefully someone will chime in to provide accurate info

It was originally 1500, then dropped to 1250, although as Alex noted, they built a few more than the "final" number.

there is NO accurate number that porsche has released.
they only released the number they had sold to dealers at the end of production, which was 1270.
this figure would not include any units pag and pcna have in their possesion.
which is more than a couple!

Don't worry...those cars don't have serial #s and don't count towards final production. All the cars at Leipzig (and I assume for that matter PAG/PCNA also) have 0000 as their serial #s.

well that's neat to know but neither pag or pcna have released a figure referred to as total production.
only the total sold to dealers at the time of release.
at the end of production one periodical suggested that the total figure ended up being close to 1500.
i don't believe that, but w/o confirmation from pag or pcna we don't have a total production figure on the carrera gt!

edit: actually the press release stated "more than 1270 have been sold"

The PCNA cars with Georgia plates on them that I saw/drove at an event at Barber Motorsports Park in March of 2005 had numbers like 0015 0016 0017 on the consoles.

The number I heard was also 1280....however there have been 200+cars totaled (Porsche source)...so there are an estimated 1000cars left
