Any opinions on last model GT3

Hey. I just was curious if I can work with someone to make my 2001 C4 into a GT3 last model. I just want to know what I need to make it GT3 without changing the engine. Like what type of suspension, brakes, etc.?

Thanks

The short answer is it can't be done.

First, you are starting with the wrong platform. Trying to make a C4 into a GT3 would involve ripping out the AWD to begin with.

Second, you say you don't want to swap the engine. Well, a lot of what the GT3 is about is the engine. So if you don't change the engine and transmission, you will not have anything close to a GT3.

There are a couple things you CAN do but they are expensive and you aren't likely to get much of your money back when you sell but here they are:

Cosmetics - you can add an aero kit and Sport Design wheels to get the GT3 look. You can also modify the interior with GT3 parts like the seats, handbrake, door sills, console delete, etc to create a GT3 like interior. You won't fool an knowledgeable viewer but you can get close.

Brakes - you can upgrade your brakes to the GT3 rotors and calipers. Cost ~ $4K installed

Suspension - you can swap out your suspension for GT3 parts possibly. I'm not sure because I've never looked at doing this on a C4 and don't know if it can be done for sure. If it can, this will run ~$12K installed. IMHO this would be a waste on your car because you will not get close to GT3 handling in an AWD car with PSM.

There are some good shops around that can help you with this. Where are you located?

Now that you've said all you have said, I realize how stupid my question was. The wrong platform, no engine swap, no tranny swap. its just dumb. I just hate that the old GT3 was not available for America. That was my favorite car. I have done the whol look of a GT3 on my car, rims, kit, seat, interior. But thanks anyway>Sorry for wasting ur time

Not a dumb question. A lot of us who got 996s and really wanted GT3s went down this path. I personally spent a ton of money trying to convert my 99 C2 to a GT3. I ended up with a 996 that had a lot of expensive parts on it that wasn't worth much more than a stock 996. Just trying to save you from making the same mistake.

Preeth in the long run you are better off just upgrading the car to a now available GT3 rather than trying to turn your 996 into one.
