PASM/Sport Chrono Plus on a GT3RS

For those who have already ordered their car and intend to track it, did you order this option so that you'd have access to additional track lap info? The only reason why I'm considering it is to have that functionality. I could care less about the navigation.

Have those that have ordered any 911 with these options and have taken it on the track, is it worth the $ to get these. Does it really give you additional nice info on your lap times?

I will be taking the RS on the track as often as possible.

Thanks. Nice link. Have others found that something like this is much better than having it integrated already with the car?

997 GT-3 Sports Chrono

There is no real advantage of the sports chrono for the 97 GT-3, if you do not order PCM (navigation). The GT-3 comes standard with the sports button feature which gives you the additional power in the mid range. You are much better off for $200 to order a "Hot Lap Timer" which will give you all the info you need as far as lap times. You can get the timer form Stable Energies or any other source.

all good stuff. yea, i'm aware of the sport button being standard is why you guys are convincing me that there are better solutions for track intelligence than just getting pcm w/sport chrono plus. one can add a few additional tires for the $4k you save too!

My car came with PCM and SC plus its a waste of $ imho

PS The sport button on the GT3 just opens and closes the valve in the exhaust which I have now disconnected so I have the louder sound all the time, it does nothing else SEE CORRECTION BELOW SORRY

The PASM button tightens the suspension as we all should know!

CORRECTION the sport button also reMaps the ECU into a more aggresssive driving mode.

For the track add an AIM dash, it will plug into your car's motronics and will give much more valuable track information.

The chrono is useless for the track, and pretty much anything I have it in my 997 C4S (in this model u need if u want the sports button), but I did not order it for the RS. If you want quality track info, try thise for example: www.traqmate.com
