Washing GT3!

The rear lid has the vents that look like water would pour in during a wash. Any tricks to block the water access?

Ignore it. No worse than driving in the rain.

you can put duct tape over them while your washing if you want to eliminate all the water going into the airbox and draining.

Just make sure the filter and airbox is pretty much dry before you go driving.

Washed a buddy's 996TT once and the filter got a little wet. Check engine light kept flashing, wouldnt boost up, pretty scary... I think we were lucky. But he left right after the wash.

OK, thanks guys. Dealer said just put a towel there to block and avoid getting excessive water in there if I was worried about it.

Cover the top of the airbox with a plastic bag. Just lay it flat across the top. It's better than a towel. It's thinner and won't put pressure on the air box. Remember to remove the plastic before starting the engine!!!
