GT2 or GT3?

If you could get an 02 GT2 with 30k miles or an 05 GT3 with 10k miles, which would you get? Assume both are $95k.

Ok, what about a 30k-mile 996 GT2 or a new 997 GT3?

Now that's a tough one, but I think personally, I'd go with the GT2, however...But it really depends on what your needs and use is going to be. If you want to go to the track, you're probably better off with either GT3, obviously the 997 being preferable to the 996 version. Though the GT2 is faster around the track in capable hands, the GT3 will probably be faster for more people since you really have to learn how to drive a turbo'd car around the track. Many people have been bitten by the extra power that the GT2 possesses mid turn. The GT2 has much more power and straight line speed so if it's boulevard cruising that you're after with the occassional trip to the dragstrip, the GT2 I think would be more enjoyable. I know many people on here have owned both 2's and 3's, so hopefully they can give their thoughts.

I've owned both. An '05 Gt3 that I purchased new in July '05 and I currently own an '02 Gt2 that I purchased with less than 5k miles. There is absolutely no comparison. The 2 is a rocket. The 3 felt slightly more agile but the difference is negligible. Although I loved my Gt3, I would never go back.

997GT3 is fast and easier to managed. The GT2 is a handful if you've never own a high hp car before. The new setups I have on my GT2 with Moton and Guard 50/80 LSD will keep up with average GT3 Cup on the track.

FWIW, I don't expect to be tracking either car. Whatever I get will be my daily driver. I have to admit I'm worried about the absence of traction control on the GT2. :/

Nothing a few tweaks to the GT2's suspension couldnt fix, but yea..

GT2 to 996 GT3 without a doubt.. Im almost hesitant to say GT2 also compared to 997 GT3 because im going through it somewhat now, fell in love with my GT2 but also GT3's and was drooling over Stuart997GT3's white 997 yesterday..

Its a tough decision, both are a blast, both are gorgeous and intoxicating and both are very rewarding driving wise. Both of us took a sick hairpin uturn and had the back ends out coming up the hill for a few seconds, he said his traction control was on too, so in my eyes that's awesome because it isnt intrusive at all..

Goodluck with your future purchase, they are all a blast

Well i drove in the pouring rain with my GT2 yesterday with lots of different exotics, i had my Michelin PS1's (which spin 1st, 2nd and part third can just WHIP OUT) and had no issues what so ever, but also driving smart. The car was rock solid and we were still going 70+ mph on the highway and through some curvy highway roads, i wasnt once scared and was thoroughly impressed!!

it just doesnt make sense to do so in the position i am in now, i rather put it into a small business or something, one toy is enough, down the line several will be feasible

And dont forget about the sound, it sounded like a more exotic cupcar and just EXOTIC to begin with, BUT Raudel's GT2 (RCNJ/custom exhaust and no cats) had such an exotic resonance at cruising speed, i thought it was a 360 challenge or Gallardo, and even some people said my RUF 590 exhaust with no cats and headers said the same thing.

Its all subjective, just trying to point out both can sound sick, look great, drive great, that's what makes it so tough
