Carrera GT occasional rough idle on start up?

Maybe some of the CGT guys can chime in here...

Do any of you experience a rough idle, brief stumble, on cold startup on your CGT ? My tech once told me several weeks ago that they all do this, but it seems kinda "unporschelike"

How does your CGT fare on cold start up ?

RufMD,

Although I don't own one, it makes sense that this could occur. The CGT is essentially a race car for the street. I imagine that the cams, etc. are very agressive. I heard one fired up in the showroom here in Atlanta - it sounded like a race car. I'm sure someone more familiar with the car can provide better insight, but it is probably normal.

Regards...

Mike,

just normal cold morning startup, anywhere from 30-55 F....

For example, today was around 60F, start the car up and it stumbles and stuuters until I blip the throttle to clear it up...

A detuned race motor cold start up....that is to be expected. Even the GT3 996 varient sounds a tad rough when first started.

I usually let it idle and 'warm up' for a few minutes after a few days of no driving and a cold morning. All seems well then.

Mine does the same. If it sits for more than a day, it will run pretty rough and the car will shudder until it warms up. Raising the revs for a few seconds tends to clear most of it up until the engine reaches operating temperature. If it sits for more than a week, I will get some popping in the intakes. I was told it was normal, but I am a little bit more relieved to hear others have this issue.
I was concerned because my car had a factory defect in one of the cylinder heads and the engine was dropped and the head was replaced. It runs every bit as ****ty on start up now as it did before the replacement, so I guess it is normal.
