As of now the forums for 996's are as follows :

996

996 TT/ GT2

GT3

I have recieved many emails with different ideas -

1st idea was to change the forums to as follows :

996/ GT3 forum

and

996 TT/ Gt2 forum

or

2nd idea was :

996 forum

996 TT forum

Gt3/Gt2 forum

I personally like the idea of option 1 - please vote thanks!

Why would anyone want the GT3 and standard 996 forums combined? One I consider a sports car, the other a luxury GT with a drivetrain mandated by beancounters.

GT2 and GT3 in one forum. TT in it's own forum. 996 in it's own forum...Issues for GT3 are completely different than 996, so I strongly oppose combining them. Issues between GT2 and GT3 are very similar as are the interests of the owners. So option 2 is desired. If you don't want to break out GT2's from the TT forum, please do not combine the standard 996's with us and leave things as they are currently. Thank you...

I voted, but I do feel the GT cars share more in common than the others, and it helps keep things a bit more focused for us. I love reading about all the other cars too, but each in the right category.

DON"T FORGET TO MAKE THE IMAGE SIZE BIGGER!! :-D

Looking at the poll. The first choice does not even make sense and is confusing... 996/GT3 forum and 996/GT2 forum??? Am I missing something here???

OK, those in favour of starting our own board pm me, I just registered gt2gt3.com.
I'll set it up as a simple message board, using the same architecture as bmwz8.us

Ok this is an absolute insult that you use our board Macfly to ask If you want to start your own board - go ahead and good luck - little more tact next time my friend

I am sorry out of the nearly 2000 members here you are soo unhappy - having your own gt3 board here doesn't seem like such a terrible thing now does it ?

This is from Shank my partner here :

Guys,

I am sorry to say that I disagree. For answers to GT2 tuning, wheels, maintenance, and other questions, GT2 owners would search in the twin turbo thread as it does share the same engine, though minor tweaks. Drive train issues never come up. It seems to be similar to a GT3 when it comes to tracking. But we carefully thought this thru last year. This is why the forum is the way it is.

As far as more traffic to the GT3 and 996 sections, well that will come in due time. We will be marketing much more, with hemmings, dupont, and other magazines. Events / meets will help spread the word as well.

I also do not agree with placing the GT3 section merged with the 996 section. The popularity of the forums is in direct relationship with the production numbers of the models.

Grin and bear it for now. When our marketing efforts kick in, there will be a lot more "good" porsche traffic.

Thanks,
Shank
