Farnbacher GT3 "S"
Farnbacher GT3 "S"
I'm sure you all have seen the ads in Pano and in Excellence that Farnbacher Loles is advertising regarding turning a GT3 into GT3 "S". Has anyone checked into this? What do they change? What's the price?

When you look deeper on what's going on there, you will realize you have better options elsewhere.

I know for a fact that the car warmed up with a 2:33.4 lap time at Road America and then finished the weekend with a 2:32.5 consistently (timed with an AIM lap timer). The car is still under testing. Not bad given the F-L equipment....We'll keep you posted...

Hey guys,
My name is Roger Garbow and I am the Marketing Director at Farnbacher Loles. I appreciate all the comments and wanted to address your concerns and any negative experiences.
First of all, as evidenced by our record at tracks all over North America from D.E. to Grand Am and ALMS, we are very good at what we do. And consider the positive reviews from auto journalists who have driven our street cars. We know what works and we know how to set up a car. Period.
In terms of our focus on pro racing, our pro effort is run as a separate entity and based in a separate facility in Atlanta. There is certainly some crossover but our street business is a core part of our business and stands alone.
The GT3 S package contains some excellent performance upgrades in both power and handling. Unfortunately I was a little too quick in promoting it before we had the all the components sorted and production in place. This stuff always takes longer than you expect. But the good news is the various pieces are coming together, and we should be in production very soon. The response to this package in terms of calls and emails has been phenomenal.
Regarding the lack of response from us, if this was your experience, I can only say that this is not the norm. We would not be as successful as we are if this was how we treated our customers. Please feel free to contact me directly to assist you in any way I can.
We will continue to innovate and create track-proven performance upgrades. If you ask anyone who has had their car worked on by us, you will find the experience to be overwhelmingly positive. And the end product to be outstanding.

Personally, I think the idea is golden and a great alternative to other options on the racer's table. If its not too much trouble, can you explain the difference between doing something like the GT3(S) and the Synergy 997 conversions? is the GT3s more of a a track car thats great on the streets or a more serious racecar like the synergy stuff? Im very curious as I am still debating what to move into in the next couple of years...
called about 10 times and the same excuses every time, oh he's out on a road test, no he is talking to a customer, talking to a tech, he will give you a call right away, yes he said he had seen your email and he will reply .. never did.
I've had basically unacceptably poor experiences with Farnbacher.
It started great. I ended up speaking with Greg Loles directly about a Cayman conversion some months back. Then was bounced to Kip for great technical info and feedback. I ended up not going that direction.
With a GT3 on the way, I still got great feedback from Kip.
Then, over the past 3 months, I have a steady stream of unanswered emails and telephone calls. I've been trying to buy parts from them for quite some time, particularly b/c I wanted to reward the time spent with me with at least some parts purchases (seats, harnesses, motor mounts, ltw fly, and cup car parts).
Nothing, nada, unanswered emails or calls.
I then purchased some cup car toe links from Steve at Rennsportsystems. Great guy, great shop.
If I'm getting blown off b/c my order is small, it's a huge mistake. This GT3 won't be my last Porsche, and one day I may go for a special tuner car like their Cayman GTR or a RUF. I haven't been a jackasss to FarnbacherLoles, and I have no personal axe to grind with the folks there, and this is the first I've posted on this topic.
But my business has to go elsewhere.
