funny that the only reason the z06 can win is because its cheap. given a competent GT3 driver, it would have lapped faster too. also, a lot of the tests you see these days with the GT3 and z06, they seem to swap who laps faster. but then again, the GT3/RS won the best handling car in two comparos and lapper over 1.5 seconds faster than the z06 in both.

yea its very weird they said that because last time i checked, on the skid pad for one fo the best handling cars tests from either evo or mt they pulled a 1.38 g for the GT3. thats absolutely unheard of. the z06 pulled nowhere near what the GT3 did in terms of skidpad numbers. in fact, the cayman s was judged to be a better handling car than the z06 as well in the mt test. talk about a bargain. you can get a nicely equiped cayman s for 65-70 and have a better handling car than a z06. chevy better get back to finding cheapER adhesives to that they can cuts costs more.

I don't think they pulled anywhere near 1.38g.

It's not physically possible. Not enough grip.

i was actually referring to this right here. in the peak lateral grip, the GT3 gripped 1.69

Porsche 911 GT3
Best lap (MIN:SEC): 1:39.517
81.0 mph avg
1.69g peak lateral acceleration

"The Porsche 911 GT3, to me, is perfect. I wouldn't change anything. I like the engine, the handling, the [ceramic] brakes. This is the car every race driver would like to have on the rack. It's neutral and has a wide powerband, the brakes are stable, it's well balanced, it has good traction. It's perfect." Angelelli also admitted that even with all his experience, he probably only probed 85 to 90 percent of this car's astounding limits, and he opined that its behavior probably becomes unpredictable at the limits-especially under power. When asked whether a Cayman with the same engine, brakes, and tires wouldn't be better still, he fretted about its less rigid chassis. We'd sure love the chance to try that option.

The Vette did beat the GT3 by .5 seconds on a technical track and with run flat tires vs. the GT3 on cup tires. So it didn't beat the GT3 by only being Cheap.

I'm guessing the twichiness they felt with the GT3 is a matter of getting a proper alignment.

Two of the last 3 times I was at a track, a Z06 had to be flat bedded off with electrical problems that shut down the system. It's too bad. The car is incredibly fast, but not very reliable when on track.
