Radar Detector Question
On my old 996 when they installed my stereo system I had them run the wires for my radar throught the ceiling panel. I attached my radar to the windshild right by my rear view mirror. It looked great and you didn't have a wire running from the bottom of your center console to your windshild.

told me about a socket on the left side of the passenger side seating area. It's just below the dash on the side of the console. I prefer this to a hard wired install because it's easier to detach and hide from prying eyes!

I then bought the 2006 F430 Spider (Red) and the 2007 F430 Coupe (all Black) off the same dealer who bought the CGT and SLR.My second son is going to buy the 2005 F430 off me in a week or two at the most. He has been wanting it for some time now so I was going to buy an 07 F430 Yellow Coupe this Winter fro myself when prices would have been at their lowest but this oppurtunity came up and I couldn't pass on it.
I was reluctant to post this, especially on this forum being a Porsche Forum. I figured most of you would tear me a new a-hole
for selling the CGT. I loved both cars but they just can't compare to the F430 for everyday driving comfort, resale value and ease of use.I guess most of you being younger like my son, he's 30, think I'm an idiot, but I was only getting each car, the CGT and SLR, out once every 2 or 3 weeks. That's ridiculous! I suppose having all the other cars didn't help but both were a little bit of a hassle to drive. He was real POd that I was selling the CGT!
The CGT and SLR are not fun getting in and out of. The rear visibilty is pretty impaired compared to the F430s. I'm sure no matter what I say will hit home with hardly any of you and I fully understand
but you couldn't appreciate my feelings on the cars unless you were in my shoes. Some day, when you guys are my age, you'll possibly understand. But remember..... I still have the GT3RS.
It's equally easy to drive and very comfortable like the F430. Sorry if I made any of you mad at me but 'sh_t happens'..... that's why they have that bumper sticker!
Magsp.s. The same car dealer is also picking up the Cayenne Turbo S today. For me, it's just an in-between SUV. Fabulous car but I can't drive it in Winter because of the hi-performance tires. So, I'll just cruise around in the Toyota FJ and Tundra when the 'white' stuff falls!

I had mine hardwired into the dome light. I have the automatic rain sensor, which is supposed to be the only way it will work. Read this somewhere on this forum. Works like a charm. Local Porsche service center installed it for me....
When I grow up, I want to be like you.....
