GT3 search in Cali....

I will be in the market for a new car within the next 2 months or so. I am still contemplating the idea of a GT3. What is the going price in California on a GT3. The last time I asked Newport Porsche they wanted close to 28K over sticker. Also, if I were to ship a car in from another state, how could I meet california emissions?

Thanks guys.

Eric- All cars sold new in the US will meet California emissions/smog requirements so that's not an issue. The only thing you need to be concerned with if bringing a vehicle in from out of state is the mileage. I believe the minimum mileage required on the vehicle is 7500 miles. They do this to discourage people from buying new vehicles out of state (where sales tax is less). The only execptions to this that I'm aware of is inheritance or by decree of divorce.

Tough car to find right now and it will not get any easier in 08...it appears that PCNA is going to come through with a fairly limited production of cars...now the TT...that's another story...

If you get it out of state and ship it in, you just have to pay California sales tax and registration. You should get a waiver for sales tax from the state you buy the car in.

One of those pics (upper right) is from a thread on Rennlist ("Some white GT3 pictures") posted today from a guy who lives in England.

At 135K I'm sure it's above quite a bit above msrp...or perhaps not with the ceramic brakes. I'm debating between the GT3, V8 Vantage or M6. All cars fill a certain niche for me, whether or not it's the same niche.
