GT Purely Porsche magazine out of the UK has a interesting comparison test this month between the four cars at the Millbrook Proving Ground and Bedford Autodrome. Results below.

Acceleration

0-60:
C2S - 4.4
GT3 - 4.5
GT3RS - 4.4
997TT (6-MT with Sport Chrono)- 3.6

0-100:
C2S - 10.2
GT3 - 9.9
GT3RS - 9.6
997TT (6-MT with Sport Chrono)- 8.4

0-150:
C2S - 25.2
GT3 - 23.1
GT3RS - 23.2
997TT (6-MT with Sport Chrono)- 19.0

100-150:
C2S - 15.0
GT3 - 13.2
GT3RS - 13.6
997TT (6-MT with Sport Chrono)- 10.6

*Note the huge effect the GT3RS's large rear wing/increased drag has on it's high-speed acceleration above. The GT3 is actually faster than the RS from both 0 to 150 mph as well as 100-150.

Track times

C2S - 1.06:09
GT3 - 1.04:02
GT3RS - 1.03:40
997TT (6-MT with Sport Chrono)- 1.04:02

Surprisingly, the TT matched the GT3 around the track. The RS was 6/10's quicker than both..which ain't much.

So in theory the TT is a better car and more well rounded. It does the lap times, but also can sprint better.

Thanks for posting

They should have ran a CGT through there for good measure.

Mag racing - I love it.

The TT is quite impressive on paper. However, IMHO the GT3/GT3RS is alot more fun/involving to drive. I prefer the involvement of the 3 to the fast/GT feel of the TT.

The C2S and TT were tested with street tires, vs the Cups on the Gt3/RS. Another factor to consider

gt3= faster throught the corners (handlng)
turbo= faster on the straights (power)....what course was this at because a smaller tigher course vs a longer stretched course would yield different results...

It was a small course.

The testers stated that; "the compact loop at Bedford provides an excellent mixture of open and tight radii, first/second/third/fourth gear turns, two straights to display grunt, heavy braking zones and some high speed transitions. The fastest car here would be the fastest on any other circuit bar an oval - of that there can be no doubt."

It boiled down to the shorter gearing that the C2S has.

Here's the ratios:

C2S 1st-6th:
3.91
2.32
1.61
1.28
1.08
.88

GT3s 1st -6th:
3.82
2.26
1.64
1.29
1.06
.92

Similar to the AMG, the TT is fast but you don't feel it.

Remember its the C2S with the X51 power kit.

According to the mag, its interesting to note that the gearing ratio in the C2S is geared for 0 to 60 timing ("...that most useless performance benchmark"), so that it can "generate good numbers for magazine road tests". They also say that the gearing in the GT3/RS is tuned for the Ring.

Well said...it's truly tough to quantify the overall involvement and feel you get in GT3/RS.
