I have a quick question. Why in the world do they use mild steel cages in these cars?

Why in the world does it say Grandma all over the car? Just kidding I know it's advertising. Looks kinda funny on a Cup Car.

"Potato Salad" FTW

If I had about hmm...an extra $170,000.00 I'd definitely be interested!

Porsche uses mild steel as does BMW and most other manufacturers. Manufacturers of these "factory" motorsport chassis usually crash test there race cars and have found no problems with mild steel.

Mild steel is fine as long as the it is welded properly and the cage is engineered correctly.

Those are awesome, but I don't see any cupholders. Any Changes going on for the '08 cup cars that would coax someone to sell an '06 and '07? Forgive my ignorance, but don't most teams hold onto a car for multiple years if no changes have been made to the cars and they haven't been damaged much?
