specialist insurance - 21 years old

Hi all im new to the forum so a little about myself:

Names Zak 21 years old and live in Kensington, London. I trade FX/Commodities from home and I am purchasing a lambo LP560 in baloon white, E-gear. From Tom Hartley.

So thats that over with, my question is does anybody know any specialist lamborghini insurers? - because of my age.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers Guys

Zak

Well I've worked at a prop shop and it's entertaining to think some one at that age has the discipline required to be successful enough to make returns to be able to afford a new LP-560. On top of that, it's even more interesting that your doing it from home since I've yet to to see a trading system that home users can use that is half decent. Then again what do I know maybe it is different in England.

I believe you. To answer your question- put it in your mom's name. That's what I did and my insurance is 1/3rd the price. Don't listen to naysayers. Answer my PM.

Yeah, I wonder why many people laugh when they see a young person purchasing exotics. Many young entrepreneurs are very successful these days, and for some who are not, don't hate.

A lot of insurance companies have noticed a lot of youngsters putting vehicles under their parents...and having their parents listed as primary drivers and themselves as secondary drivers, or the vehicle as a secondary use vehicle.

Then insurance companies seemed to notice a lot of these 'secondary' drivers (who also happened to be quite young) were involved in collisions with these vehicles...Same thing for vehicles that were registered as secondary vehicles.

Where I live, insurance companies are now working like this:
Your house has 3 vehicles (Your Father's primary vehicle, your Mother's primary vehicle, and a third vehicle, registered under your mother as her 'other' car.)
Your house ALSO has 3 licensed drivers... (your Father, Your Mother and yourself.) The second you want to be added as an insured driver, you will be paying full premiums (and it's likely going to be on the vehicle that has the highest premium...because you're the biggest risk.)

The way they see it...is that there are 3 sets of keys in the house with three people able to drive. Likely, you'll ALWAYS have access to at least one of them.

I'm not sure how it works over there, but i wouldn't be surprised if something similar would be going down, as companies were taking some good losses against younger drivers on vehicles that they were not registered to be the primary driver of.

It sucks, but you may just be forced to pay the full premium for your LP...but hey, if you're already making enough to fork out a few hundred thousand US for a car at 21...the insurance shouldn't be a huge deal.
If the insurance is going to be a deal breaker for you, buy an S5 and wait a few years.

i worked at a prop shop for bonds in NYC right out of college and there were a lot of sub 30 guys making insane money, so it's definitely possible.

i dont understand how everyone is hating on the OP. he simply asked you a question on insurance.

Like one of the guys said, if you can not afford insurance dont get a LP. Or put it under your parent's name as primary. Put ur mom/dad's car under your name instead. Make sure you have 3 vehicles for 3 people in the household.

good luck!, post pics if you can.

Being a moderately successful fx/commodities trader does not take much. I began dabbling with a demo account from Oanda and had an 8% return in two days after getting the hang of it (and being down about 5%). I'll probably pick up a real account in the relatively near future just to earn a little extra cash.
