Need fix for squeaky brakes

My 08 Gallardo had LOUD squeaky brakes when coming to a stop. This happens on every stop. Of course dealer says it is normal?

I've read about pastes and sprays to quiet the brakes but they are only temporary solutions.

Suggestions please...

I switched my pads to EBC Yellow Stuff for a track event in March and never took them off the car. Work great and no squeeking. I have since done another track event and still never a squeek out of the brakes. Plus the pads are less than $300 total for front and rear. Only issue is the rear do not come with the wear sensor which means you need to defeat it in the rear which I was not concerned and is easy to do. I won't be running my pads down to metal on metal anyway.

Robgreg75,
That is an excellent solution. I'll check into it. Do you know if you can just replace the front brake pads while leaving the rear pads Stock?

It is only the front brakes that squeak.

Yes you can replace just the front. With todays cars with ABS worst case if you are way off on pad friction the ABS just activates sooner but in terms of really stopping the distance will be negligable. But the pad bite between the yellowstuff and the stock Brembo seemed pretty close to me so I wouldn't guess it would even be an issue.

Part number for fronts:
EBC-DP41513R/2

Should be able to find as set for around $130-140 for the front set. Cheap noise solution. Don't be misled that you need expensive pads. These have stopped my car on the track from 140-150mph speeds many times.

Robgreg75,
This is one of the greatest features of this forum and with contributors like you. I can just ask my questions and knowledgeable people give me answers.

I'll try to get my dealer to do the work under warranty, but if he cannot or will not, I'll just do the brake pad switch myself.

Thanks for being so through with part numbers and cost.

This happens to my 04G also. I find that when I do alot of soft breaking around town the breaks build up dust and squeek when stoping. Try some high speed stops to burn off the thin layer of break dust. I get mine up to 70-80mph and then step on the breaks hard. After a few times this seems to clear it up for awhile.

Resolution

I'm please to report that my dealer has generously and in gesture of goodwill will inspect my squeaky brake problem and plans to install an insulating pad behind the front brake pads. This work is not being done under a warranty claim and is a one time offer.

I feel this is a satisfying resolution to a very annoying problem.
