2010 Turbo vs Gallardo Superleggera - Budget 150k$

Hello guys,

I am thinking about changing my supercharged 06 Carrera S next spring and need your input about what to choose.

Here are the options I have thought about:
- 2010 Porsche Turbo w PDK
- 2008 Gallardo Superleggera
- 2008 Ferrari F430 (but out of budget)
- 2010 Nissan GTR

My car would be only driven during weekends. I would drive it mainly on small roads and track it like twice a year.

So basically my criterias are:
- Performance (sensation on small roads)
- Good looking
- Budget 150k$
- not older than 2008

At the moment, I am leaning toward the 2010 Turbo because of the awesome performance/acceleration. Also it is a 2010 car. My second choice would be the superleggera in gray for the looks/sound and for being aggressive. Though it's a 2008 car and there is the LP560 already.

What would you choose? Or do you have another option I didnt think of?

Thanks

which one? V8 or V10?

I don't feel very confortable going from a Porsche to an Audi. That's why I am not really into the GTR even if it's neck and neck performance wise.

For me the next upgrade from a Porsche should be a Lamborghini or a Ferrari but they cost so much new.

You're letting the badge on the hood cloud your judgement.

In your mind, Porsche>Audi and Lambo>Porsche thus why you want the Lambo, and don't want to "go backwards" to an Audi.

Since you're thinking emotionally and not rationally, we can't really help you.

i understand what he means and if i were u id get the newest car you can afford because you cant beat new imo. Get the new turbo for 150k ...which is also the "fastest" of the group and with great new tech with a good brand name you can trust. good luck

In your mind an R8 is better than a Gallardo SL?

No, I never said that. My point is that you shouldn't discount the R8 because it "just an Audi".

At that price point, it's between the Turbo and the SL. But both are different cars... Turbo will be faster and have the latest engineering and be easier to live with. SL is loud and obnoxious and cramped, but its a Lambo, and will draw much more attention.

Do you wanna fly under the radar or be a rockstar?

this is a hard one.... But the new 2010 turbo is the fastest car on the list, and has the best warranty, unless you plan on doing mods, like you did to you current porsche, then x it off the list and go for the exclusivity, and get the lambo. Remember though you will be in the same price range but, the attention you get in the lambo is totally different, now going to get ice cream on the side of the road is going to be problem with people stopping you asking questions, as well as alot of unwanted attention, but you may want that as well, it's up to you. I hoped i helped out a little....good luck

I guess I wanna be a rockstar This is my weekend car and I wanna get the sensation to drive a supercar from all its perspectives: Performance, Looks, Sound. Even a Porsche can make you a rockstar. My red Carrera S with the aero kit draws a lot of attention I was thinking of a white turbo with black rims. Though tough though ... the gallardo is definitely much more agressive look wise.

Out of the cars you listed the SL is the most exotic and will be the most exciting to drive. GTR is more of a daily driver than a weekend car. Nothing wrong with the new 997TT, but again, a Lambo will be more exciting if this is strictly a weekend car. You can get a pre 08 430 for under 150k if that changes anything

I went from an 07 997 turbo to an 08 gray SL about a year ago. Totally different experience. For a weekend cruiser, I would take the SL hands down. Park it next to a 997 turbo and you might as well be parked next to a rolling turd. The Lambo draws so much attention its crazy. When was the last time people were begging you to let them sit in the Porsche and take pics. The SL has every bit the performance in the real world where youll go to jail for busting 150mph down the highway and the looks and sound are 2nd to none.
