HAHAHAHA. I figured you guys would have some funny stories.

 

OK, now that i'm back in the saddle in the "real world" let me put a few thoughts down on "paper". The guys at UGR run a top notch operation. Everyone there was extremely friendly, even the guys doing the dirty work, they all treated us with respect and courtesy and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Kevin and KC showed us a level of hospitality that I've not received in the past on any builds I've done. They took me, my son, Eric Carver, his son, Kyle, Patrick, Jamie Carter and Tim Iacoli and treated us like family....I really appreciated that...

As for the shop, well, I was shocked....not by the number of cars getting worked on (11 SL 6-speed, 11 SL e-gear, couple 560's, 08 SL e-gear, several G's and a few cars that had competitors kits on them that were being completely redone by UGR) but moreso buy the cleanliness and organization of the shop. Everything was put in bins, everything was labeled, everything was clean....I've never been in a shop like that. On our FIRST drive, Kevin drove and EVERYTHING worked perfectly...that is not the shocking part, but I was really shocked that the car was so troublefree the FIRST time they ever drove it. Just top notch stuff. UGR is putting together some video footage that we took and as soon as I get it, I will post it in this thread.

As for the car.....really, I don't know what to say.....1,400+ is just INSANE, it makes you feel sick it pulls so hard and so smooth...it feels like it's defying the laws of physics as it seems impossible that a car can put that type of power to the ground. I was skeptical until now, that build is so amazing. I can't wait for you all to experience it at TX2K11....we will have 8+ UGR TT G's there...that's all I have for now, i'm still trying to get over the amazement of that car...just SICK. I can assure you, that will NOT be my only build with those guys. I will be repeat customer one day when I upgrade to a 2011 SL.

Some more pictures from our "spirited drive" on Wednesday. I believe these were taken before a State Trooper buddy of Kevin's called and said "uhhhhh, do you have 3 Lambo's "testing" on highway xxx? Because if so, get the hell off the highway, there have been so many complaints called in to the office that we are sending a squadron of cars out to the highway..."

Imagine 3 1,300 whp + TTG's tearing it up 3-wide!!!!!

Peter, I "think" I found the way to get an SL into my garage and keep my wife!!!

And Tim, you get Catharine's email the same day I can tell your mom about the 'shop visit' Wed night!!!

 

And to think I stayed back at the hotel to be a good dad.

 

Trouble is always close by when Mr. Carter and you get together!

 

So far we have avoided jail. I do bring extra cash for bail whenever I go with Jamie.

 

Hahahahahaha Jamie, you crack me up man! I can't wait to talk to you......I have some more pics I will post a bit later. As for brake boosting, HELL YEA BABY!!!!!!!!!

I have never met anyone with party/racing stories as good as Jamie's. Peter I heard you were quick on the draw .

 

Does that mean that I spanked Eric everytime we raced? Including the times I reeled him in and passed him? Heck, even KC (Kevin's brother) said to me (he was riding shotgun)...your car moves out hard, harder than the other two. You reeled them in even when they jumped you... Here is a perfect example of a typical sequence of events:

1. I let the other two jump me



2. They go and I give chase



3. My car is faster than Eric's so I reel him in



4. I pass them both and end up winning



There goes the "he jumped" or "he went on 2" theory... LOLOLOL
