When is the replacement of lp560 gallardo coming out? I'm thinking of picking up a lp560 but if the new gallardo is coming around corner shortly, i would hold off. thanks

 

not for another 3 years. you should consider the new RWD "base" version. not only is it the cheapest, it's got rwd to boot.

 

@djantlive: by 'RWD base version', do you mean the Valentino Balboni edition? if so wasnt that even more expensive than the regular lp 560-4? or is there a new model now?

 

Lamborghini told me, 10 year cycles with 5 year facelifts. Gallardo 2004-2008, 2009 refresh with the LP-560 expected to run through 2013 with a completely new design expected in 2014.

 

No, the base rwd gallardo is a 2011 model. The price is about $190k for minimal option in the US. This trim is cheaper and offers rwd. It's like a balboni except without the pricy price tag and weird looking stripes in/out.

 

Do you have any pics or any online sources to this base model lp560? There is a used 09 lp 560 here locally and asking price is 210k. But if the base rwd starts at 190k, I minus well just order a new one.

 

I think there called LP550-2 and look exactly the same aesthetically as the all-wheel drive version. As mentioned above, think Balboni but without the strip. Visually, I believe the only way one call tell is by the badge on the side of the car. I don't know the production numbers but, the 09 560-4 may be a better buy because the initial depreciation has already been absorbed. Although, I've seen used or untitled 09's cheaper than $210K, quite a few in the $180K range. Options such has the extensiveness of the carbon fiber trim, the Q-cintura interior (quilted stitching) as well as the Cordelia or Calisto wheels run up the price tags.

I'd go with the 09 leftover only because it probably has a few nice options in it whereas the base lp550-2 will be a basic G. The options aren't necessary, but if you're getting an exotic you might as well get the full carbon interior, special stitching, etc.
