V12 gallardo, is it possible?

V12 gallardo, is it possible?

Is it possible to engine swap a V12 from the lp640 and put it into the lp560?

Better sound in my opinion, more power, just wondering if it'll fit the engine bay.

dont know if it will fit, but I dont think it would be any better then the V10.. has to weigh more..

I have no idea if you could or not

and of course its your money and you can spend it any way you see fit, but it would much much cheaper just to add two turbos in my opinion. Of course if you have the money, some one will try to make your dreams a reality I'm sure

I was just thinking hypothetically, but in my opinion, naturally aspirated sounds far better

It won't fit IMHO without a lot of fab work....have you ever seen the Lampredi V12 out of a car sitting on a table and the Gallardo's much smaller Audi V8 derived V10?

Im all for modification. However your question is quite outlandish and irrelivant in proportion to someone modifying there gallardo (even full built TT) to a full engine swap, an engine that was not engineered to perform (or fit) at full performance in that car. This is a 250k+ car, engine swaps arent as they are in a honda civic with a b16 swaping to a h22 from a completly different car/frame. end rant

Fair enough, my question was only hypothetical anyways as I have an e92 M3 and was thinking about a V10 swap and that sent my mind on a meander of thoughts of engine swapping after I read an article on Ferrari making a v12 458 Italia for someone, so I was trying to imagine the results of doing such a thing to the gallardo.

An issue with this too is the fact that the transmission comes off the front side of the V12 not the back like the V10. The engine would need to be flipped around and depending on accessory packaging could make for even more fitment issues.
