I know there was some controversy about the one that reportedly had 1,600 rwhp and had that 266 mph run that was said to not be correct. But I thought it still did 252 mph verified at a mile event? I honestly believe a stroker twin turbo 5.4 is capable of every bit of the 1,900 rwhp the Gallardo's are capable of.
Controversy yes, but that yellow fgt in ? made 1800+rwhp. A twin 76mm Ford Gt will make over 2000rhwp. No one else has done it yet but its coming, Hennessy is building one and so am I. Performance power went 252, The white car out of Fl. The yellow Heffner car of Ray's went 249.7 @ Texas and 266 in Fl. Which everyone calls bull****, it is what it is and there will be one or two more big hp Fgt's coming out that will post big no's like that up again. Or maybe Ray will bring his car back out.
It takes a 1750rwhp lambo to go 250 in the mile. It takes much less power by 250-300 less with a FGT. You will see a 1400rwhp Ford Gt go 250 in the mile and most likely more than one.

Man, there is LOTS of misinformation in this thread! LOL Just a few comments:
1. I ran a 2.97 100-150 on a less than ideal run...I think she has a 2.8x in her as she sits. The GTR that ran 9.10 has a best of 3.50 100-150.
2. I personally do not think a GTR currently stands a chance against a properly set up Gallardo TT. The 60-130 is not indicative of what would happen in a real street race b/c based on the data I've seen (from the AMS GTR) the Gallardo pulls harder in every gear.
3. Having said all of that, I really don't car...I am lucky to have both a TTG and a GTR.
4. When the SL TTG ran 250, they were only running 1500 whp or so. This is according to Kevin at UGR.........

If that car is making 1,800 rwhp it should have no problem doing 266 mph. The only hard thing with Ford GT's is the cost of entry, even higher mile cars are significantly more than early Gallardos are. With the advances in turbo technology and with the ultimate capability of the supercar 5.4 being as yet unknown it should be an exciting battle! Ford GT's also have the gearing , and aero work to go extremely fast.
Are you planning on building your GTR as well?

Just like in drag racing, you get to a certain point and then it takes alot more power to go faster in x amount of distance. Not only that but drag becomes a huge factor in mile racing, most race cars (Ie promods) are accelerating up to 250 in the 1/4. They are also very aero friendly and make about 3500-4000 hp to run 5.8's @ 255 in the 1/4. You can go 6.0's -6.20's @ 225-232 with about 2500hp in a Prostock style car. So once you start to hit the aero brick wall of the car it is going to require much more hp to drive the car alot faster. 100 hp wont do the same as it did at 200 or 220 and so on. It may take 200 hp more to go 5 more mph. In drag racing sometimes it takes 75 hp to go 1 mph faster in the 1/4 on a 7 second car.
Unless you or I bought a t.t lambo and mile raced it, we will never know what they made to go 250. My source said 1750rwhp and they have a pretty tight connection with UGR. If ugr said it took less it is what it is, but if it only made 1500rwhp on the dyno that means it probably only made about 1300awd hp and there is no way in hell the lambo went 250 with 1300awd hp. I would imagine they lose @ least 150-200whp when hookin the front shaft back up to drive everything. Also many people dont take into account, but say the normal loss is about 15% on a car from crank to tire hp loss. When you start to triple the hp of the factory motor. The drive losses go up a good 4-8% due to the extra stress and friction to drive the drivetrain. This really don't matter thou as they are still achieving rwd no's. Just means the Actual engine hp is much greater than what they are calculating.

Yup the gtr's are going to be fast 1/4 mile cars, but at that wieght they cant stand a chance against the lambo roll racing, You cant over come 600-800 lbs with out making a bunch more power. From low mph though it would be tough. Like below 40mph, the gtr will have more weight to hit the car harder on the street with out spining. If the lambo is anywhere near being able to put down x amount of power and hook up, its going to be lights out. We will c I guess when some race.

probably flip. I dont think the aerodynamics are up to par with the power they are putting out.
Already done....last year at TX mile...saw it in person
Parachute, cross-wind, braking, etc. There were a lot of factors involved but it didn't flip because it was going too fast/improper downforce.

Both of these points are totally wrong....
Yea, no one said it wouldn't be close...I'm simply saying the G will pull on the street. Again, I really don't give a _ _ _ _. I have both now so it's all good.

As you know Peter, I'm a big fan of both cars for street racing....but the AMS car ran about .3 tenths + faster than your best 60-130 to date which I would think is a car length +....and that car is using garage tuning. I HOPE I'm wrong...but I have a feeling a typical 40-160 highway race is going to be very very close between these cars....
