Underground Racing Domination @ TX2K11
The GT-R tops out around 200 (AMS Alpha 9 hit 205). At those speeds, the Gallardo is just stretching its legs.
Last I heard, the Gallardos were hitting 19xxwhp!
If a GT-R can make, say...1250 at 3.8 liters. How much at 4.0L? How about 4.2 Liters? There's plenty of room to grow. Not as much as a TTG due to displacement, but again, the GT-R can do more with less. The question is how much of a power disadvantage can it give up and still be competitive?
If those are the numbers they are putting down now, then what happens a year from now when the GT-R finally hits 1500whp and breaks into the 8's@ 170? The Gallardo will be trapping well into the 180's and breaking 2kwhp. The GT-R has some big obstacles in it's way. Best of luck, Scott, on proving everyone wrong!

P.S. that last statement was just a stab in the dark.
I'm not looking to compare my car to Nera at all. My car will be a 100% street car that was built with longevity and reliability in mind, and yes...cost was/is an issue (I'm not wealthy). My tuner is limited in what he can do to my car because of my requirements. I also told him no nitrous.
I can't expect to compete against a company's personal R&D car. UGR has unlimited funds (relative to me), multiple mechanics, tons of R&D, etc.. Nera is a one-off car with performance that I probably never be able to emulate.
I want to compare my car to the standard Stage 3 and Stage R cars that any Gallardo owner with an extra $90k - $120k in mod money can purchase from UGR and daily-drive. Cars like yours, Peter's, Eric's, Tim's, Jamie's, even SW's. These are the types of TTGs that I believe are the current top dog "true street cars". Not Nera, and not some dedicated 1900 rwhp one-off TX Mile package that's not even listed on their website.
Heck, even with a boatload of power, 99% of all TTG owners won't be able to equal the times that UGR themselves runs in their own shop car. Most customers don't even spring for the $25k billet gear sets that allow them to launch the cars hard without breaking something.
Anyway, I just wanted to clarify that I'm trying to keep this comparison 'apples to apples' as much as possible, so that people don't get more carried away here.
Jamie's car is not even done yet! lol

He is one of the smartest car guys I know, who also happens to not be a brand-*****, so I admittedly trust his opinion greatly.

What's funny is UR has already bettered their drag time, just haven't released it. They are probably waiting for a GTR to do something better at the track....then BAM!...here's a video! They can be cruel like that!
I sure as heck would! I'd modify the crap out of that thing!
Jamie's car is not even done yet! lol

Kyle- I promise this is not an excuse, but please keep in mind that my drag times will come from my personal 'street' car. If UGR has bettered their times (which I have no doubt that they already have), it was done from their dedicated shop car, Nera.

Ha ha...it's actually someone else, but that's pretty funny that you named Jamie.

A member posted this and then immediately deleted his post, but I'd like to respond:
Al I have to say is if the cachet and inherent attention draw of owning a TT Gallardo is worth the extra $100-$150k over a 1k whp GT-R to you, the answer is simple: Get the Lambo.

hmm, I'm guessing 8.75@182mph
At any rate, I really appreciate you taking part in this discussion.
Unfortunately, I don't have the answers to those questions.
Buy one and find out for yourself.
All I can add here is that I can not wait to run Scott's car. Based on 'customer' 60-130 times, a Switzer GTR and a GTT R build are awfully close to each other. I have a feeling this is going to be an epic roll race. From a dig, I'll lose. From a roll, I hope to beat him. Obviously, I am a huge fan of Switzer and UGR and personal friends with Scott....so I want to keep the trash talking to a minimum....just a picture of Scott picking up my dinner tab will suffice.
I see UGR runs this car in rwd only? I think its lame this car only runs on a private rented track that is probably prepped the whole way just for this car. Like i post on Viper Alley it would be nice to see them bring this out and race it infront of a crowd and awd like the rest of their customers cars. Then we could all be impressed even more.
