>>>> Thanks to Amar and the TI racing crew <<<<
Just wanted to thank Amar and his crew for another great event. I have to say that it was one of the best times I have had at an event--my grandfather and great uncle used to race at that same place a looong time ago. The experience was even better than the last time we went. All the TI crew was very helpful with any info we needed, etc., and they also busted their asses to get the runway dried after it was flooded with rain from the night before.
I also had the pleasure of meeting a lot of different shop owners and their crews: Evoms, LMR, T1 and others. It was also good to see Will from RSI again. All were very nice and professional, and it was good to finally meet some of them and chat for a bit. I would also like to thank all of our customers for giving us the opportunity to build them the fastest Gallardos on the planet (Bob, Nick, Mullet, and Bryant). Also thanks to the other customers of other tuners as none of this (event racing, etc.) would be happening without you guys there participating. Also a HUGE thanks to the entire Underground Racing crew for another killer job on the customers' cars, my 6 speed Gallardo, and also for all the time they spent away from their families preparing all the cars for this event.
We will get some video up asap. We have SEMA coming up, so our crew is busy getting the TT R8 GT ready for the Nitto tire booth, the TT Aventador ready for the HRE booth, and a TT 560 spyder ready for the Mobil 1 booth.
I have also had a lot of emails, texts and calls about details concerning tires, power levels, etc. Just to clear up a couple of things, we came to the event on Toyo R888's. After testing we put on a brand new set of Hoosiers on the 6 speed car only when the KOTS started. They did great on the first pass at a lower power level in the first round. On that first pass, the only one the car hooked on, the tire turned on the rim and threw the tires out of balance. In the 2nd round at the same power level, they feathered and went to crap. AMS sent me what tire to try (thanks Eric!), which they have had good luck with, and we will be testing soon with them.
As I posted before the event, it was not going to be easy to repeat for a 3rd time. You can't win them all. Even if you have the fastest car (and there were a LOT of fast cars there), so many things can go wrong whether driver error or many other things. I was excited that all of our Gallardos with as much power as they make (all over 1,550 whp), and after beating on them all weekend, ALL went home with their owners trouble free. Congrats to all who participated, and of course to those who won!

On behalf of the TI organization, thank you for the continued support of Underground. You guys have defined and set the standards for the airfield event. We are all glad you got to spend time rowing gears in the main classes as well as having the opportunity to meet the other attendees/shop owners. We will continue to keep the setting intimate to retain the personality of the event.
As for your grandfather and great uncle racing at the airfield during the original NHRA Drag Safari, that is absolutely amazing. The doors to the airfield are open to them if they are able to come down. For those that haven't been to TI, here are some images of the past and how we do it now:

(3) UGR cars at SEMA rolling on HRE Wheels! Thanks for the support UGR!
Thank you guys for the great wheels that I don't have to worry about coming apart on high speed runs

See you guys at Sema if I can get out of the casinos!

It was nice meeting you and your wife this past weekend. Wish we had more time to chat but we were both very busy attending to our customers. Your cars were very impressive like always! Looking forward to the next event.
Thanks man, see you guys next time.
Thanks for making the trip out guys, it was great seeing the cars get down. That silver 6speed car was nuts! I was really not wanting to race that monster in the 6speed shootout and get a bus put on me.. Good times. See you all next event.
