Dropped off my Superleggera @ Dallas Performance for a Twin Turbo build

Long time lurker first post : )

I wasn't sure if I really wanted to modify this car since it is a very rare 6 speed manual, black, Superleggera, but last week after a friend told me he just placed a deposit with Dallas Performance to turbo his Gallardo, I picked up the phone and told Taylor that I needed a turbo kit now. So we made plans to drop the car off and start the build today, and I've decided to go with a Stage 3 build, with their upgraded race heads and also the level 2 transmission upgrades with the DP billet case work and billet drop gears. I'll try to post pictures and updates as I get it, but am planning to have the car back by TX2K. In the mean time, I have another Gallardo to drive, so I won't be completely Lambo-less during the build. Here are some pics when I dropped it off (sorry for the camera phone pics):

Before we left home, I had a friend follow me out in my other Gallardo. If the president travels by motorcade, I travel by Lambocade only

Just got to Dallas Performance:

And she's already on a lift:

And my favorite part:

Funny that I've had this model for a while now, and I finally have the real thing.

Welcome! Nice first post. Looks like you are going to have great time at Tx2k. What wheels are on your Gallardo's?

The Superleggera has the OEM 570 wheels, the orange Gallardo has ADV 5.2.1 SL's in 20". Has to be the best aftermarket wheel for the Gallaro, IMHO.

Some weight reduction. Engine and transmission removed for upgrades

Congrats! Excellent decision. You're gonna love the build. 6-speed is def the way to go too. And Taylor does the BEST work of any builder I know. Of the cars I've seen in person they are the ONLY builder of Lambo TT's which provide a 1000+whp car with daily driver reliability. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Smoky you can't see bro. Too much smoke lol.

Reliability goes hand in hand with how much money you have. You want a reliable car you better build the entire tranny, diff, axles and all. It's the only sure way.

You can't build a 1500 hp car and expect reliability when you take the cheap road and just do drop gears and etc. Must do it all. That goes for any car and any tuner.

Smoky, can you explain to me how you are able to determine the daily driving reliability of a build by simply looking at it?

Don't think anyone would argue that. 100% agree with you. And it looks like the OP is taking the right route with the best parts just as you suggest. It's gonna be a fantastic build.

I did. Was sorry to see it go but couldn't stand the egear. Gave the flappy paddles a try but they just weren't for me. Right now I'm loving my Viper ACR. Hoping to get back into a Lambo later this year... Either a 6.0 or an LP640. I miss the Murci and would love to get back into a big Lambo.

Man, you put so much time into that build. Sucks you didn't like the e-gear.

My advice is if anyone goes over 1250 hp do it right or your playing with fire. Will have to pay to fix what breaks, shipping, more labor and etc.
