Another TT Gallardo
Another TT Gallardo
Well the car is in the shop getting TT'd but not the shop I ever expected. Before I even bought the car, back when I was in school 4 years ago, I knew I wanted a UGR Gallardo. When it was time to buy a gallardo, I flew to Charlotte to visit with Kevin and discuss which specific year and model would be best for my goals and visit the shop unexpectedly. I was directed towards a LP superleggera, and the search began. After finding the right car, I continued to have discussions with Kevin now and then, even had a deposit down for a Stage 1.5 with him that was to start this past April. However, I realized I didn't want to risk having a stock motor fail on me. Thus, I decided to wait to have the build done so I could save for a Stage 3 or higher. Kevin was gracious enough to return my deposit. So with that I say thank you to Kevin and his team for your time and understanding.
I had the car down in Dallas these last few weeks being detailed, having an engine bay light kit installed, serviced, and a clear bra installed. I had a few friends ask that I at least visit Dallas Performance while I was down there before sending my car to UGR. I figured there was no point as I KNEW I was going to UGR, but out of respect for my friends I went to DP. I showed up unexpectedly just like I did UGR. Taylor stopped whatever he was doing and spent hours talking to me. He showed me every inch of his shop and the parts he used. How confident he was in his product was immediately apparent. Every part was well thought out. Some shops make great looking parts, but only the ones you see when looking at a motor. Dallas Performance goes beyond that. From their fuel pump assembly to the oil sump hanger, parts are CNC'd and designed for ultimate function. There is no shortcuts with their builds.
Taylor answered every tough question I had open and honestly including why he hasn't beat UGR in any major event. His reasoning was that it had nothing to do with what he can build, but that everyone who wants to be the fastest has so far went to UGR. If he had a client that wanted to be the fastest, then they would. I'd rather a shop I'm going to do business with be honest over telling me what I want to hear. I feel Taylor did just that. I predict Dallas Performance will be challenging, if not beating, UGR within the next year or two. People who know me know I'm overly competative, yet I like the underdog role. This situation fits me perfectly.
Anywho, Taylor is going to put a stage 1.5 on it just to see if we can get it done in time to run at the Runway Rivalry next Sunday in Dallas (1000 hp limit), yes that's only one week away lol. It then will be immediatly torn down and converted to a stage 3 with a stage 1 transmission upgrade putting down 1300 whp. Ultimate plan is his Race Spec 2 and go challenge the UGR fellas. Build photos to come.

Well my sandbagging got called out on Lamborghini-Talk. Sorry I wasn't honest. Car is being built as a stage 3 as we speak. Was trying to not let on what it was so I could race in the Runway Rivalry next weekend. They won't let a Stage 3 race even with me turning down the power to 1000 hp. Wanted some seat time on a closed down airstrip before taking it to the street. Well good news is now that the cat is out of the bag, I can post more pictures lol. Motor is currently at the machine shop.
Thanks for the congrats.

Just to let you know, I know of 3 Gallardos that were going to be built at Dallas Performance and they thought the opposite of what you are claiming here and sent their cars to Underground Racing, over 1,000 miles away to have the twin turbo systems installed. Two live in Dallas and I personally know the 3rd as his car was already apart at Dallas Performance and he had the Gallardo removed from DP and sent to Underground Racing all disassembled.
Maybe show some class and restart a thread the right way and leave UGR out of it. They are the KING of the Gallardo platform and this has been proven over and over at race events. No sense in taking a backhanded shot at them over getting some FREE parts.
Good luck with your build.
Sure seems like you have an ulterior motive for UGR. Why even mention Underground Racing in this build thread? Its not hard to read between the lines here. With you getting caught in some lies at LamboTalk, it doesn't look good for your credibility here. Maybe that's why they removed your thread on the other Lambo forum?

Of course it has something to do with what he can build, because if he CAN build a faster car than UGR, he WOULD HAVE with his own shop car that he has been competing with in recent times.
Anyway, like the TTLambo said, GL with your build and I hope we are able to meet up at TI in the fall.
I tried to tell the OP to remove some things in his post or it would get ugly with facts on lambo talk.
Sounds like a few skeletons in the closet over there at DP.

What's funny to me was Taylor's response to the naive OP when he asked why he hasn't beat UGR in any event….. "it had nothing to do with what I can build, but that everyone who wants to be the fastest has so far went to UGR." :roll eyes:

It's kinda like me saying I can out drive everyone at any event if I really wanted to, but just thought I would drive slower that day.
Lots of mis-information there TTLambo. You might know someone but apparently you don't know the truth.
I find it really funny that you guys are giving Sandman a hard time but this exact same thread has been posted in the reverse. Threads about going to UGR over Dallas Performance. For what ever reason they felt like they got a better deal, good for them.
Why post Dallas Performance in those threads? Double standard much?
I generally stay out of the Internet drama and I don't care for threads like that but the OP has made a post stating his experience that's it. Chill out, go drive your car and quit being upset everytime someone doesn't join your circle.
Further, I could care less what a customer of another tuner thinks about my car. Last time I checked it is MY car. I just have enough respect to give my time to my customers first. We have been nothing short of slammed with new Lamborghini builds and we are growing as a company to meet the demand. As I have stated before most of our customers have wanted to do smaller builds and so that's what we build. Not sure why it is so hard for you guys to understand? Lol.
Carry on.

My thread got removed on the other site because ugr is a sponsor and DP is not. You can't even write DP or Dallas Performance in a thread without it becoming ## or #######.
I know gallardos that have also switched from ugr to DP.
If you want to call them on lies on the other forum, fine, but many people sandbag. I race a lot of money races. It's in my interest to keep things quiet to make money. Luckily most people I race aren't on these forums.
And as I've said on other forums, I got the same deal at both shops. I've got the emails and invoice to prove it, but both shops I guarantee would not want me sharing that info.
So next time why don't you stay classy and not interrupt my build thread when you want to make inaccurate assumptions on why I chose DP.

Thank you. And never said where I do said racing. Could always be at the track ;-)
