I hear that these cars are not reliable, they break down, clutch job is expensive, if engine blows up, then you are screwed, etc etc etc.

I know many Lambo owners and none who blew an engine. Only VT issues I heard of are with aftermarket wheels of different rolling diameter. Clutch is only about $7K and not needed on an 03 6speed unless abused. I think the car is very reliable and cannot even compare to a 360.

I couldn't comment on their reliability, but just a suggestion---if you're in Murci price range, why not consider a CS?

if you going to spend 170K, get a '07 Gallardo, lighter, better looking and easier to sell when the time comes

I disagree with both of the above. I also disagree that you will get a clean 03 Murci for 170K.

Get a 6-Speed Gallardo ... Don't waste ur time on a non LP Murcielago unless you are a non-driver and go straight to the club or restaurant and want ur doors to go up ... The G is a better car, hands down.

Wow, I'm surprised to hear you say that, Dario. As one who has owned both can you elaborate a little bit? I have an 06 G and thinking of picking up a Murci.

A Gallardo handles better, is more nimble and a better daily driver.
A Murci definitely wins on looks and power, hands down.

Since you dont have any real driving skills, you need the Murci

Lambo engines are solid, clutch is no big deal and once replaced they can last for 20k + miles if they are driven properly. Get the Ferrari out of your head. Get the Murci and get it over with, Dammit!

Having owned an 05 Murcieago I can tell you that after 9700 miles, I had zero issues with the car. I don't know a single owner that had their "motor blow up". Guys that that had their clutch replaced after few miles did so because of lack of skill with the clutch pedal.

You will be hard pressed to find a good 03 for $170k. Maybe an 02....

As far as the Gallardo looking better than a Murcielago? I suppose that opinion is based on your tastes. I for one would never buy a Gallardo. But that's just me....

The G is much easier to drive, Murci feels like your driving a really fast tank.

Manhiem has two 2003 Murcis that sold for 170, 4 that sold in the mid 180's.

The 2002's were going for 145

I wouldnt touch a Lambo from an auction and wouldnt even consider a purchase without doing a full PPI and a history search on the vehicle.
Generally speaking if the car is at the auction, there are issues with it.

For a clean 03 with decent miles, you are looking around 190k.

No one says the Murc doesn't look better ... It crushes in that dept. but for more on my thoughts check out my post halfway down here ...

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ad.php?t=96914

or a full review here ...

http://www.lambopower.com/forum/inde...howtopic=25425

I will say that if my car was a 6-Speed and not a E-Gear it might be diffierent but I'm still not sure.

again ... The Murci looks MUCH better ... As I posted earlier, if you are using this car to go straight to dinner and/or a club then the Murc is for you as a LOOKS and jaw dropping presence standpoint ... but, from my experience so far, if you are a buying the car for driving enjoyment then go with a Gallardo.
