Ok, so for Macan S looks like we have 340 hp and 339 ft lb torque, 0-62 mph listed at 5.5s. For Turbo the numbers are 400 hp and 369 ft lb with 0-62 mph 4.8s. No surprise here other than the curb weight, it was supposed to be under 4000 lb but it is not.

I am very much okay with settling for the S with 340hp. Would love someone who can read that to chime in. Doesn't seem like the turbo has a lot of standard options that the S doesn't have.

PASM and 19 inch wheels standard on the Turbo. That list doesn't even scratch the options sheet. It's just a technical spec comparison sheet, like this:

If accurate, the curb weight shown here is a major disappointment. As sebis mentioned, I was hoping to see a 3,xxx lb figure.

Disappointing, but not a bad figure considering the SQ5 is 4,409 lbs.

Only the base q5 is around 4,000 lbs.

The 1,928 kg (4,242 lbs) for the Macan S on the spec sheet cannot be the curb weight - perhaps someone familiar with Chinese market specs could clarify?

The base Cayenne is 4,398 lbs, according to the Porsche USA configurator. The Macan, a more compact and sporty vehicle, has to be several hundred kilograms lighter than big brother Cayenne.

According to Autoweek, "project leader Hans-Juergen Woehler suggests a number of weight saving measures, including the use of aluminium in the body, will see the Turbo hit the scales at under 3750lb."

Well .. I'm thinking the Macan Turbo S is going to be a nice addition - '13 C4S, '14 Cayenne Diesel

Even if it is the EU Unladen weight that includes 68kg driver and 7kg luggage it is still over 4,000 lbs unless of course could be some Chinese spec that is none of the two mentioned above.

Bad news, it is the DIN weight, somehow I missed the latin letters in parenthesis. This doesn't even include the driver. For comparison, here are the Cayenne weights lifted off Google Translate:

Empty Weight (German Industrial Standard) 2,155 kg
Empty Weight (EU standard) 2,230 kg
Permissible gross weight 2,820 kg

The first one is DIN weight.

Yep, that's why I put "if accurate" in my post, as I was also thinking this vehicle was going to be well under 4,000 lbs. Perhaps the spec sheet is bunk.

Here are the specs on the SQ5 from audiusa:
Curb weight (lb) - 4,409
Horsepower (@ rpm) - 354 @ 6,000-6,500
Torque (lb-ft @ rpm) - 346 @ 4,000-4,500
If the specs above for the Macan S are correct, I'm having a hard time seeing how anyone could justify the Porsche over the Audi.

Easy. Same base price, better looks, Porsche.

I have driven the SQ5 and it plowssss through the corners. Steering feedback sucks. Looking at Porsche to remedy this.

MY2014 specs

At the top, this spec sheet says MY14 Macan.

My dealer here in Canada is of the opinion that the FIRST Macans arriving in N. America will most likely not be MY14, but built to MY15 specs, and arriving next year (May 2014) as Model Year 2015 vehicles. Those specs will be determined just before start of production at the end of December, and standard and optional equipment packaging will likely be different for each international market accordingly.

So, until we get official word on specs from Porsche after the LA launch next week....!

I was of the understanding that this was already confirmed? LA Autoshow reveal (late Nov., early Dec.) for a second quarter 2014 release as a MY2015.

I'm in LA... and when the Autoshow comes to town, I'm making a beeline for the Porsche wing!! I have a photog friend who will see it on the first press day. I'll have him send me pics, and I'll post it here...
