CLK-63 Black ECU update

Mu ECU is on it's way back from Renntech. I received the dyno sheet and compared it to the previous map they did. Look's like they were able to get an additional 30 Hp and 30 Lbs of Torque over a wider RPM range.
Making 423.49 Hp SAE on DynoJet and 400.46 Tq. It holds the torque there between 3700 & 5800 rpm, not bad. No headers ! Peak Hp holds bet 5800 & 6800rpm. That's a fair improvement from his first map. He found more Hp in several areas. The torque of the motor is what pushes the car hard when it shifts. When I ran a new SL-55 I surged further and further ahead every time I shifted. With 7 speeds and stock exhaust that's pretty nice. I think before Renntech is done with that car it will offer 95 % of what the DTM does out of the box and for 30% of the cost ! When we get done with this Black it going to be the "real deal" Best to all. Steve

So your stock car only dyno'd at 393hp? That seems fairly low, especially given the fact that dynojet's numbers are optimistic in comparison with other dyno's

P.S. IMO, having both "AMG" and "Renntech" badge under it makes the rear way to busy, I've never seen it placed that way before. I would either replace the "AMG" with "Renntech" or not use "Renntech" at all.

Here are your figures for Renntech map. results stock car.
Stock - 390hp 343tq
1st map - 406hp 374tq
2nd map - 423hp 400tq

I would say the torque gains are very good and boy do you feel it !

Your in Miami, why don't you stop by there if your so interested ? Steve

Sounds cool, I would be interested to check it out. What I was saying was that claimed 507bhp translates into 416whp (using 18% drivetrain loss), so it seems like the stock car is making slightly less than its supposed too. My SLK55 makes about 415whp and has similar torque, it would be an interesting match-up

That would be fun but we couldn't be any further apart so we will never know. Have you checked out the SLK racer that Hartmut designed ? it's on his web site. That is the most awsome looking car I have seen in quite a while. That is a pure road racer with great lines and balance. Where do I sign up ? I guess Renntech, I haven't discussed that car with him yet. I ran the new ECU program tonight. The first thing I noticed is the shifts are much harder like "bang" and the power is smoother and builds all the way to 6800 rpm. I could only test it in 2 gears but will do further evaluation tomorrow. It definitely stronger just in normal driving. It was raining so I had to cool it. Best regards, Steve

You said the ecu is on its way back with dyno results. Curious how this works? Did you just send in your ecu for a basic flash? If so, how did they dyno it?

They dyno an identical car. That get's you there. The Dyno map for that program was e mailed to me. Does GIAC or most of the other guys do it any differently ? I put the ECU in tonight and drove it. It began to rain just as the car was reaching operating temp. I nailed it in 3 & 4th but really couldn't evaluate it completely. No question you can tell improvement in regular driving. The shifting program is much stronger now and Torque gain is noticable. Again it began to rain and with the traction control off the rear wheels spun easily. On my track car, a GT-3 RS, we did "on road" dyno testing to make further adjustments over the REVO program we utilized. My car has headers and cat's only with the Cargraphic light weight silencers. The engine needed a lot more fuel and a little more timing adjustments over their basic map. Will be loading a 100 octane program soon for track work. That will allow us to use more agressive timing curve = more Tq. Our adjustments made very strong gains. Different animal with fuel and timing. Felt like we added 2 liters ! Steve PS why don't you FL. guys drive over ther to find out first hand what they do. Renntech is in your hood ??? Just curious !

sounds good, just curious. I'm thinking of using Renntech for my E63.
