S63 Good Deal?

It looks like I can get ~$15k off of a 2008 S63. Is this a good deal or do the new 2009s coming out kill it? And yes, I am aware of the rapid depreciation of AMG models.

So what you're saying is that I'm going to eat that $15k plus a whole lot more...

But it's so shiny and new!

This may end up being another one of those cases where emotion overcomes logic. I will talk to them tomorrow afternoon about this.

Any one else want to chime in on this?

Short answer to your question is yes, and more. Your 2008 model will be like every other 2008 model out there once you drive it off the lot no matter when all the others were purchased i.e., at the begining of the model year or yesterday......

I understand the bright shinny thing, have made a few automotive decisions that way myself. I'd wait a few weeks/months and find an 09 on a lot somewhere, I have a feeling unless the economy turns around you'll get the same $15k on it? Be strong...

if you wait for the 09's you can look at both, and if the 08 is still around, you will get more than the 15 off at that point as well... but i fall for the shiny new thing everytime, so who am i to talk.

I think you should wait for the 09 models to come out and then you'll see you can get more than 15k off

Do what I did....picked up a brand new 08 G55 3 days ago, with a signed contract with my dealer for a 2009 G55 February delivery! Once the 09 is in, I trade in my 08 and pay an extra $11k for the 09.

And by the way, I got $12k off the 08.

Wife is confused ....

Honey

I thought we were going to buy a GL, so we could tote the dogs around and have a SUV for hurricane evacuation.

Mind you that is a really awesome car. Maybe I can be the evil wife and help you negotiate some more off the price tonight.

I'd get a used 2008 personally. In fact, that's exactly what my dad just did! Saved a bundle.

Get a used 08 if you want to save money. You will save way more than 15k.

BTW, I ended up going for it. They took some more money off, and then gave me more on my trade (1999 996 Cabrio) than it was worth on the books. I just couldn't resist.

Bright and shiny wins once again!

I had talked to my sister about this a week or so ago, and she LOL'd when I told her I bought it. She said it was inevitable that bright and shiny would win since I was a guy.

...and my wife is just shaking her head.

I guess I need to change my user name now.
