Check with www.tirerack.com. They offer Bilstein coilover kits. Talk to Damon.

wat the hell are you guys talking about...

the car has a Airmatic suspension system that utilizes air shocks that can control the ride height of the vehicle with a hit of a button. you would have the flexiblity of controlling the height up and down with 4 or 5 inches of travel...

sum ppl have there car lowered by the mercedes techs with the Star Diagnostics System or you can go the aftermarket route with Brabus, Carlsson, Lorinser, and so on and so fourth. those products are often referred to as "ELM" (electronic lowering modules). they cost you around $300-400 so of the mercedes forums the vendor sponsors will have group buys or specials to get them for $200-250...

Thats what I tought also. If you go to tire rack, they list it for models without the airmatic suspension. All the CLS I have worked on have had the airmatic suspensions.

You can go with any ELM (renntech, kleeman, brabus etc)

There is also the link and washer method.

But the best option in my opinion is lowering it via the Star Diasgnostic System

Renntech ELM. I believe the new version is more plug-n-play and also has a remote control option.

Links are available and can provide significant drop, but there can be an issue when the car lowers at 60-70 mph as unlike the ELM it does not prevent the car from going too low.

Star Diagnostic is also a good alternative, but the lowered results seem to vary depending on the specific car and I have heard that it is possible to have to redo the programming.

I have the Star Lowering on my E55. I feel it is the best, safest, most cost effective way to lower a Mercedes with the airmatic suspension. I do them at my shop in OC. No need to reprogram factory ecu. We can also do ABC suspension on the SL, CL and S class.

BTW pic in my sig was taken before lowering.

We like to use the Kleemann lowering module. Its simple, and very easy to use.

PM me for special pricing...

Here it is on our Project CLS500

RENNtech ELM is the way to go.. ftw I believe they are $1395 retail, since you have a CLS you dont really need the remote but it is useful. I installed the RENNtech ELM with the Remote in our ML and I'll tell you, its the best module, and cheapest one out there.
