from experience i'd say the cl55 is the more performance oriented model and the 600 is more of a gt car. you still have to take into account that this is a very heavy car with the bias being on comfort for both models so don't expect anything like your turbo. but either way, one of the best gt cars money can buy and blindingly quick.

 

The 55 will handle better and give you more of a sporty ride while the 600 has power to burn. Tough choice, go with the V-12 or the supercharged AMG? I'd probably go for the 55 if it was me. Check out mbworld.org as there are tons of threads on this exact question.

 

agree with what the others have said, but i also seen some people mod their 600 and make some serious power...

i say its a tough call, try to drive both for a bit and maybe it would be more clear then

 

I had a similar decision to make a couple months back and went with an E55 instead of an S600. I liked the sportier feel of the 55, and I knew I was going to mod the hell out of it so I would be up above 600 power for a stock car. If I go with a V12 next, I would jump into a 65 series car.

Do you want instant power and a smooth drive or a a sportier one. I would you with the 55.

 

I was toying with the same question. Decided to go with the CL65 instead. AMG Power/Handling + comfort handling seems to be a good answer. :-)
