E55 or e63?
I agree. The E55 is such a monster. The E63 will probably be more reliable in the long run.
You might want to check out mbworld.org for this question. The E63 is newer, handles better, tighter suspension, and has IMHO a nicer looking exterior and interior. On the other hand, the E55 if you plan on modding is the only way to go. How much HP do you want? If it's 500hp, go with the E63, if you want 650-700, go with the E55.
could always go cls55 if you want the car to handle better... as its 40% stiffer (or so topgear says)
e55 if you like torque and want to be able to get some power quick.
e63 looks nicer but you have to wind it out.
i prefer instant power

To Sum up the Above - Previously had an E55.....
.... Now absolutely LOVE my 63..... Exterior/Interior Changes (Cosmetic) are great - factory exhaust note is definitely better (I put a custom exhaust on my car anyway)
Was in a 55 the other day, and really appreciated the newer gauges/black headliner/big paddle shifters, wood around shifter, etc....
Yes the 55 is absolutely more mod-friendly, if you want to trick it out (performance-oriented) get that one..... if you keep stock for the most part, I say the 63....
Not that this is really a downside, but the 55's have basically the same motor as in the 500 series cars, with a supercharger slapped on top..... Now on the other hand, the 63 is obviously a completely different motor - limited to these cars (so a bit more exclusive) -- plus I believe the entire motor weighs less than 500 lbs......
What is your reason for getting the car, you must ask yourself ?
