Lowering Links vs Lowering Module

Lowering Links vs Lowering Module

I am considering installing my 22" wheels on my CL63 and was wondering what everyone thinks about lowering with links vs a lowering module (either from Carlsson or Renntech). Will I run into any problems using the links? Using the module? Should I just put the wheels on and not lower it at all? Will that look dumb? I don't want any headaches with this so before I do anything I want to hear everyone's opinions.

I don't have any answers, but I am very interested in the answers!!! Hope you get lots of responses. I have a hunch that lowering the car will look better.

LINKS FOR SURE! i considered the module for a while, then i got my links and saw how easy it is and how well it works, NO DOUBT GET THE LINKS

PICS WITHI THE LINKS INSTALLED, KEEP IN MIND YOU CAN HIT THE BUTTON AND RAISE IT TO STOCK HEIGHT ANYTIME

Thanks. I will most likely go with links since it is just as effective. I'm not one to mess around with the height as the modules allow. I just want it lowered to my preference and left there. That red SL55 of yours looks awesome!

Links over module, cheaper, takes less than an hour to install...and you can take it back to stock if you need to go in for warranty work

Here's a cheap easy way.

The best way I found to lower my SL55 was using the MB computer programmer at the dealership to lower it. It was easy, cheap ($505 in 2005), and didn't void any warranties.

I looked into that, it didnt go low enough and i can put the car back to stock in 20 minutes. cost more too.

Switzer doesn't sell a lowering module for Benz, and I'm certainly not here to help RENNtech sell a lowering module, but from what I've seen the links tend to cause more problems with sensors, etc. than a good module like the V2 RENNtech or the Champion or the Switzer (Porsche) module.

The links are a bit ... caveman?

With a plug/play module you can take it back to stock by disconnecting it. No special tools, takes ... 30 seconds?

The lowering module by RennTech is the ultimate way to go to get the perfect look/calibration of the airmatic, but if you simply want to drop your car for asthetic value, dont plan to race or anything else and dont plan to adjust much up/down over time. Its simply a better and cheaper alternative and there is nothing caveman about it

The STAR diagnositics By your MB dealer simply doesnt go low enough when all said and done. Doesnt have near that slammed look.

thats the best thing about the link set up, drop it. pretty low, then hit the factory raise up button twice and its at stock height, its perfect.
