Finally a 6speeder!
Hi there,
I'm Errol from Sweden, I'm 19 years old and I just got my first car!
It's a Black -00 SLK 200 Mercedes-Benz with Black/Red Leather interior.
It has a black exhaust tip and it is a Manual tranny, just like it's supposed to be
I'm glad to finally have become a part of 6speed!
I'll post pics of my beauty later, But I can assure you that I'm not one of those guys who are pretending to own a Veyron or a Reventon from Dubai.
Cheers!

Hey, been having some rubbish weather lately, but the pics will be up ASAP!
On another note; I've been driving quite a lot and testing the car out. I've noticed that when I put heavy usage on my brakes, the front rims (especially the front-right wheel) ends up dirty. Could it be some kind of fluid or dust from my brakes, and is this type of behavior normal?

AHA! No one told you about the Dark Side of Mercedes ownership: BRAKE DUST. MB uses a soft, high-friction brake pad that throws off more dust than you can imagine. It's a curse that we all live with until we switch to ceramic brake pads or a lower-dust brand of normal pads like Wagner or Porterfield. When I drive the SL, I'm on the ground wiping the wheels twice a week. Using a good wheel sealant on clean wheels will help with the removal when the dust accumulates.
What you are experiencing is, unfortunately, normal.

Puh! Thank's, that was reassuring. I wouldn't want to have major problems (Brake problems for instance) with my car so early on.
Yeah, I've also started cleaning the wheels on a regular basis, but I don't mind it, I love taking care of my sweet ride.
Is there any reason why the dust mostly shows on the front wheels and not the rear ones? I'm guessing it has to do with the angle of the car

It's just physics: the weight of the vehicle shifts forward during braking, and the front brakes do most all of the stopping. That's why the front wheels will always get more dust on them than the rear. I'm willing to take 45 minutes and clean off all 4 wheels with detail spray and microfiber when they need it, but when it it time to replace the brake pads, I'm switching to either Wagner or Porterfield pads. I don't think any company makes ceramic pads for a 1987 560SL.
Good luck and happy cleaning!!

Well, well, well... Looks the the sun finally decided to appear today.
Took the opportunity to take some pics. The 'wheel-pic' shows some brake dust, but hey what can I say; I enjoy driving

Hey guys, Thank's for all the kind comments - really makes me feel welcome
Funny you should mention the Z3. It was one of the three cars I had in mind while chasing my first ride. The SLK was on top of the list, but with a price tag that was a bit above the others'. I found a nice Z3 1.8 during a trip to Berlin. It had the famous Atlanta blue (as seen driven by James Bond in Goldeneye ) and nice beige leather - but it had an engine which only churned out 116hp.
The third car on my list was actually an Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0. I loved the exotic, italian design and feel of it. The black leather "momo" seats and nice interior really made it a place you wanted to spend time in. The gearbox was smooth but also had a "racier" touch to it. But, It had an electronic soft-top which just didn't want to play ball when I wanted to. The 2l engine with 155hp felt sufficient and a red-line on 7000rpm always excited me when I saw it However; It was a Front-wheel-drive car, and I really had my heart set for a rear-wheel-drive car.
So ultimately, the right car came along, with the right specs and the right price. I just had to have the SLK about 192hp, rear-wheel drive and a hard-top that folds itself in under half a minute. Good stuff in my eyes
