SL 55 Boost Lag

So i had this problem with power my car would run out of breathe and regain power. I was told it was the IC pump. Changed to a johnson CM30 but still had the problem but slightly better. I was told I didn't flush air bubbles correctly so I did that. Again car feels much better but problem is when I run the car hard for few mins my car has something like a boost lag/out of breathe/RPM hesitation. Some people say if there's a problem with the supercharger it will shut down but mine doesn't feel like a shut down of supercharger and after catching its breathe for about a min, car will run strong again. Any ideas anyone? throttle sensor on pedal?

This problem is caused from heat soaking. The 55's get very warm, and once they reach a certain temperature they experience these issues.

I would recommend the RENNtech Intercooler/Pump Upgrade. They make a huge improvement with the cooling of the vehicle.

Doesn't sound like it is from heat soaking.

Another update on power LAG before I mentioned when the transmission mode is in S, turns out its the same if I push the car hard enough, it still lacks power momentarily either way just S mode takes more time for some reason. One thing I did notice today was there is a faint smell of radiator fluid in the engine bay (the evaporated smell) but I looked everywhere I cannot find any leaks at all. Only thing I can see is the cap area has a little of dry residue of coolant. will investigate more today.

Coming back to the IC pump. I have changed to the JOHNSON CM30 pump not more than 1 month but could that be still failing? I've heard some people experienced a problem with their throttle sensor which the car looses power but if that's the case does the car regain Consciousness after loosing power?

I've tested the car again today and this is my findings.

After pushing the car hard for a minute or two, car drops power, supercharger feels like its working faintly or not much at all but car still tries to gain RPM but not going fast. I have a loud exhaust so when I full throttle the car it sounds like its ripping the road, but when this happens sounds like car is on silent mode and I loose 50% sound.

weird thing i notice is if keep trying to floor the pedal, the car will take longer to revive but if I let the throttle off and let the rpm drop under 2000rpm after a while playing with the throttle you can feel the faint "KICK" or "the "CHIRP" , that kick you feel when your supercharger pulley engages then all power comes back.

I almost had the same problem , I checked my IC Pump which was bad so I changed another oem pump problem was still there. I went and changed the gas pedal sensor which comes with the whole gas pedal now seem to run strong and actually hit the rev limiter last week again a BMW too.

Check MBWorld as well good info !!!!

GLW with the issue

when you had the problem with the lag. after you changed the pump, ur car still lags but does it not let you rev to high rpms or lag happens after a few mins of hard acceleration? cause my problem is car will run strong but after heavy acceleration for a bit car drops power comes back after 1-2 mins.

Car has a new problem now and is hard to start engine. either fires up right away like normal if sat overnight but after starting and driving for a bit and restarting, ignition turns and tries to start but engine doesn't fire up. after a few attempts car fires up unwillingly in a way...VERY LOW rpms but once it does start car acts all normal. any ideas?
