Gustav, at what speed is the speed limit in the F10 ?

 

Pulled nicely! I've always wondered why we don't have more events such as this one here in the states. I am pretty sure it would have a great turn out, I would definitely attend. The closest to this event I've heard of here in the states is put on by these guys http://shift-s3ctor.com/.

 

The M5 is UGLY compared to the CLS and the CLS with the tunes some companies have right now would ruin the M5. Sorry but a 5.4 vs 4.4 with similar technology the 5.4 will have the upper hand when the power levels increase. AMG isn't exactly an amateur branch. The CLS is so amazing on the inside, outside, sound wise it's easy the best 4 door car right now. By the way Gustav I've seen some dodgy races on M5board and alot of people don't trust your races. For some reason BMWs always have an "advantage" ....and this is coming from an M3 driver.

 

The looks of each car is subjective. I wish the M5 was a little more aggressive. But I bet the M5 handles better stock as well as being faster. As for modifications, it only a matter of time before there are upgrade for M5 as well.

 

Thats a non-PP CLS63. Race it against an E63 PP and we will have a more objective comparison

 

i agree with you that the m5 isnt a great looking car, however the cls is even worse in the looks department.

bmw design team should be hung! mercedez on almost all other platforms i think look much better. but like said looks are subjective.

the M department forgot what it stand for i think.

with that said, yeah with the tunes that they have out for the cls would beat a stock m5. but soon as the m5 is tuned ,i think it would destroy a tuned cls.

and im sure the m5 really craps on it in the handling department but they are both fat pigs.

 

Someone with a PP CLS please go find an M5 driver and tape it

 

Having raced against both cars in my modded XKR here is the conclusion:

From a low speed roll, the E63 PP is quicker than the M5 probably due to its torque advantage. As the speeds increase into the triple digits, there's not much in it.

From a launch the M5 definitely destroys the E63 as the race start function does not give the AMG a clean launch. The car bogs dogs down before it goes whereas the M5 just goes. I think thats why the M5 probably produces better timings in most magazine tests. Again, both cars are very close in straight line performance and the outcomes in a drag race would be largely driver dependent

 

Its pretty much a drivers race across the board. Too close to call. As for me I prefer manual transmissions so the M5 is the only choice for me. I know it is the slowest of all of them but I prefer manual so much that it matters little to me. I do with the F10 sounded as good as AMG cars though.

 

Not going to lie, I'm surprised.
