Reliability/Costs of Maintenance on a 2000 E55 amg???
Don't know what high mileage is, but I put over 70,000 miles on my 2002 with only scheduled maintenance costs, and had no reason to think it couldn't go another 100k or more with ease. Best car I've ever owned, and an incredible daily driver. That normally aspirated V-8 was a blast from any RPM. Loved it. - Russ

Do you have a higher res pic you could post up? Once I get rid of the G, that's the exact color i would like on my upcoming (eventually) 997s cab.
I always liked that light blue color, makes me feel very miami vice

Thanks in advance.
( sorry about the OT )
If you ever will be getting one get a 2001 + It has different side mirrors, An AMG bodykit!

You'll find that is a bullit proof car. Electrical gremlins once in awhile but, only intermittent. Most of the time due to low battery. If you drive daily, should not be a problem.
Kleeman puts out a new supercharger that is sweet. With headers "600" HP! My RENNTech '01 only puts out 400...

AMG nerd here.....I have over 92k on my 2000 E55. Other than the electrical gremlins its an incredible vehicle, extremely solid and fast, I have made over 150 runs down the dragstrip in the 5 years of ownership. One word of advice, unless you have deep pockets I would suggest procuring one with some type of warranty...out of pocket repairs are not cheap on any German car let alone an AMG.
Also just a small correction, 1999 was the first year of US production for the W210 E55. The minor AMG body style change happened in 2000, hence the reason I purchased mine, in 2001 the only changes I think are one touch close sunroof (im jealous) and something with the display of digital speed in the "info center", 2002 brought no changes as I can remember, and was the last year of production for the W210. 2003 brought the intro of the W211 body style and of course the addition of the supercharger to produce the engine from hell!! For anyone whos into something somewhat "limited production", the earlier AMGs such as the W210 had pretty low production numbers relative to the M5 at the time as well relative to the current AMG's.

They're pretty bullitproof from what I've experienced, several friends of mine have had them without issue, nothing more than regular maintenance. Mercedes in general (as said above) occasionally have electrical gremlins generally caused from a drained battery/sitting for a long time.
If you haven't found a specific car you're looking for, a friend of mine owns an indipendant dealer and has two (a 99 and 02 I believe) in stock he's looking to get rid of, just because they've been in inventory too long.
