New Movens on the CLK550

Put some 19's on the wife's car to replace the crappy 17's it came with.

I'd have chosen the AMG double spoke rims as these have a knock off look to them. Agree that you'll need to drop the car too which your wife may not like the ride as much....

Car definitely needs a drop. I understand Eibach makes some lowering springs that aren't too harsh. Wife nixed the double spokes as she had those on the E55. These are knock-offs of the CLK63 and S550 AMG rims. They are heavy, but the car has torque to spare.

A touch slower than our old W211 E55. Ride is smooth, if not a little floaty. Exhaust note is impressive for a stock car

It may look better, but it will also reduce the ride quality. I don't think your wife is going to the 'ring on a daily basis!

Well, since she has tracked my dumped E36M3, 996, and now the 997TT I have to say she is not a newbie to taut suspensions. With the E55 she always drove it in Sport2 suspension mode

Honestly in traffic the CLK can slingshot into gaps as well as the E55 did. I am certain that head to head it is no contest but given the environment the car is driven in 100% of the time, my groceries haul ***

i bet they do, i used to have a clk55 coupe, more than likely, given your 7sp and a little more power, i would say they are more than likely neck and neck, considering yours is a conv.
