Threw something @ my E55
I've been in similar situations.. especially at night, when I'm in the 996tt. Best thing IMO is to just pull into the right-most lane and slow down to 55 mph. I find that trying to pass just causes more trouble.
Last summer, I was down at U of I with some friends... took my E500...figured it would be inconspicuous. Anyway, we were waiting at an intersection when suddenly I hear a VERY loud thud. First I thought some idiot had rear ended me since we all felt the car shake. Then I look across the intersection and I see a kid holding some kind of homemade cannon peeping out the sunroof of a white limo. The light turns green and the limo turns and speeds off. Unfortunately it was too dark for me to get the plates... and plus I was still a bit confused as to what happened. I thought about following the limo but we ended up just pulling into a gas station. When I checked the car, I found egg yolk all over the front bumper and hood... well, I figured it would just wash off and that would be the end of it. But after taking the car through the automated wash, I found that the egg had hit hard enough to actually chip the paint off my front bumper. Needless to say, I was pissed.. but at that point there was nothing I could do.
I guess the lesson is.. it's impossible to completely avoid idiots on the road. Best thing is to just minimize the damage and like in your case, get authorities involved if possible.

Some stupid MFers out there! I had an interesting incident last week as well where some guy in a huge F250 deliberately cut me off because he didn't want me to merge in front of him. Then he pulls up next to me and yells that we were sitting in traffic because of people like me despite road construction clearly visible 1000 ft ahead. I told him to F*ck off and cut him off anyways.
The Most Are Out Here In New York! The Bigest **********s Live In New York! I Go Trough It Everyday. What Do I Do? Chase Them Done Or Run Them Off The Road! Ill Bet You They Will Never Do It Again! But Im Also Crazyyyyyy... Lol. Dont **** With Me.
Wow, that's some crazy stuff..
speaking of stupid drivers, I once saw a woman with a New York plate up here driving in a slow moving highway, and when people need/want to merge in front of her, she put half her car in the next lane (thereby cutting that person off), just to make it around the person trying to merge to her lane... As I drove along, I watched her do this 3 or 4 times... the whole time thinking "what the hell is her problem?"

I grew up in Chicago and know that part of 290 quite well....it really does NOT matter what city or where you are or even what you drive really!
Frankly you did the wrong thing - let me explain.
You drive a nice car and people want to mess with you. The mature thing to do is let him pass you and just let it go. Why even try to block him off - I know you said you didn't cut him off but by messing with him you started it already....at that point it's a he said, she said and things can easily get out of hand. I used to get mad and would do stupid things but one time back in college my bro got shot at cuz his friends were doing some stupid things.
Trust me, you have more to lose than the guy in the green truck, just let him pass you and let him get far away from you. He threw change at you to **** you off cuz you pissed him off first. Not saying what he did was right but you started it.....
And to those of you who say you'll beat him up....obviously you never had a bad experience but no matter how tough you think you are, one bullet or stabbing and you'll regret it faster than anyone.

It actually happened to me in HS right in town. I was with a buddy in my S2000, and 2 haters in an old POS pulled out and followed us for about 2 blocks throwing quarters at my trunk. Nothing I could do about it. I didn't find damage either.
A friend of mine had a similar experience. He was in his M3 when a guy threw something at his car (from the right side). The guy then leaned out of his window to say yell something at him, and my friend through a CD like a frisbee and hit him in the face.
He then sped off.
